PMS 2715 U is a Pantone PMS color commonly specified as a soft violet-blue with a clean, modern character. It conveys a controlled, professional impression and reads as cool, light, airy, contemporary, and composed.
The color has a light to mid-light appearance with an LRV of 24.93 and shows a clear blue-violet tendency. Its saturation is moderate, and a gentle violet undertone becomes more apparent under neutral or cool lighting conditions.
This color works well for brand-facing elements where a lighter blue-violet is needed to support graphics or forms without dominating them. Due to its lightness, substrate contrast and finish selection can influence uniformity and perceived hue, making test samples and proper priming helpful.
Similar colors: PMS 271 U: lighter and softer, with reduced saturation and less blue clarity.MyPerfectColor is the official licensee of Pantone and authorized to reproduce the Pantone™ PMS 2715 U color in spray paint and other paints.

PMS 2715 U is a Pantone PMS color reference, not a paint formula. Matching it requires translating the printed Pantone target into a coating on your chosen substrate and finish.
Because Pantone colors can be vivid and sensitive to lighting, finish, and material, some visual variation is normal. For brand-facing work, the goal is a close visual match under expected viewing conditions, not an absolute numeric match.
If PMS 2715 U is critical for approval, test a sample on the actual substrate and review it under the lighting where it will be used before committing to production.
A standard Pantone PMS match for PMS 2715 U is appropriate when the Pantone reference itself is the color target. This is common for brand signage, displays, exhibits, prototypes, and marketing installations.
In these scenarios, visual alignment to the Pantone standard matters more than matching an existing painted surface. A standard match supports fast turnaround and consistent brand presentation across vendors.
For large or high-visibility projects with formal brand approval, consider reviewing a physical sample of PMS 2715 U on your substrate before final production.
No. PMS 2715 U is defined within the Pantone PMS system and does not have an exact equivalent in other paint brand collections.
Other brands develop colors independently, and any suggested crossover is an approximation. This is especially true for saturated or distinctive Pantone hues.
If PMS 2715 U is specified in your brand standards, ordering a direct Pantone PMS match is the most reliable way to target that color.
Plastics vary widely in composition and surface energy, which affects adhesion and appearance. PMS 2715 U can look different on plastic than on metal or wood.
Some plastics require specific surface preparation or primers to achieve proper adhesion and uniform color. Without this, coverage and durability may be inconsistent.
Always test PMS 2715 U on the actual plastic material before production to confirm adhesion, coverage, and visual match.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2715 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
