Pantone™ PMS 2665 U

PMS 2665 U is a Pantone reference color used in brand standards, but Pantone does not assign ownership or exclusive associations to specific colors. Some brands may specify PMS 2665 U internally for printed or display materials, but those uses are not always public.

If you are matching PMS 2665 U for a brand project, rely on the official brand guidelines or documentation provided to you. This helps confirm that PMS 2665 U, including its Uncoated reference, is the correct target for your application.

As a general planning estimate, one custom spray can of PMS 2665 U typically covers about 10 to 12 square feet per coat. Actual coverage depends on surface texture, spray technique, and how heavy each coat is applied.

PMS 2665 U is a saturated violet tone, which may require additional coats to achieve even hide and visual consistency. For brand facing work, it is wise to plan extra material and test coverage on your actual substrate.

The "U" in PMS 2665 U indicates that the Pantone color is defined using the Uncoated paper reference. Pantone also defines many colors in other series, such as Coated, and those references can appear noticeably different.

When ordering paint matched to PMS 2665 U, confirm that your brand or project specifically calls for the Uncoated reference. Ordering the wrong suffix can result in a color that does not meet brand expectations, even though the number appears similar.

PMS 2665 U is a color reference, not a paint type. It can be matched into different paint formulations suitable for interior or exterior use.

For interior displays, exhibits, or brand environments, interior paint formats are usually appropriate. For exterior signage or installations exposed to weather, select an exterior rated paint to ensure durability. The color match target remains PMS 2665 U, but the paint type should be chosen based on exposure and performance needs.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
