PMS 2577 U is a Pantone PMS color specified as a rich purple-violet with a bold, expressive character. Within brand and marketing contexts, it conveys energy, creativity, and high visual contrast, making it suitable for attention-focused elements where color clarity matters.
The color appears medium-dark with an LRV of 24.93 and reads as cool with a clear violet bias. It shows high saturation and strong chroma, with a magenta-leaning undertone rather than a blue-violet cast.
PMS 2577 U performs well in brand-facing displays, signage, and fabricated elements where saturated color is intended to stand out. Due to its depth and saturation, it may require additional coats for even coverage, and primer selection along with lighting and finish evaluation can significantly influence the final appearance.
Similar colors: PMS 2587 U: lighter and more open, with a softer violet presence.MyPerfectColor is the official licensee of Pantone and authorized to reproduce the Pantone™ PMS 2577 U color in spray paint and other paints.

PMS 2577 U is appropriate for prototypes and concept models when the goal is visual brand alignment rather than final material performance. The Pantone PMS code defines a color target, not a coating formula, so the match is intended to communicate how the color should look.
For prototype workflows, select a paint format that matches how the model will be viewed, such as spray paint for smooth, uniform surfaces or brush-in-cap bottles for small parts. Evaluate the color under expected presentation lighting and on the actual substrate used in the model, since both can affect how PMS 2577 U appears.
Shipping transit time for PMS 2577 U paint depends on your location and the shipping method selected at checkout. Production time and carrier transit time are separate, so planning ahead is important when working toward marketing or display deadlines.
If your project has a fixed installation or presentation date, allow extra time for transit and consider ordering samples first. This helps avoid schedule risk if adjustments are needed after reviewing the color in person.
Surface texture can significantly change how PMS 2577 U is perceived. Smooth surfaces tend to reflect light more evenly, making the color appear cleaner and more saturated. Textured or porous surfaces create shadows and uneven reflection, which can make the same color look darker or less vivid.
Because PMS 2577 U is visually evaluated rather than measured on your specific surface, it is important to review the color on the actual substrate and texture used in your project before final approval.
Sampling PMS 2577 U is recommended for high-visibility brand projects, large installations, or any situation with formal brand approval requirements. Sampling is especially important when lighting conditions, surface texture, or substrate color could influence the final appearance.
Reviewing a sample allows stakeholders to confirm visual acceptance before committing to full production and reduces the risk of rework if the color appears different than expected in the installed environment.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 2577 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2577 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
