PMS 213 U is a Pantone PMS color used as a standardized visual reference rather than a paint formula. It conveys a bold, energetic, saturated presence that reads as playful, attention-grabbing, and assertive in brand-facing environments.

The color has a low Light Reflectance Value (LRV 19.28), giving it a visually deep appearance despite its brightness. It reads as warm with a strong red-pink tendency, is highly saturated, and carries a red-dominant undertone with little neutrality.

PMS 213 U works well in controlled brand environments where saturation and visual impact are prioritized. Due to its vividness and depth, careful surface preparation and multiple coats may be needed for uniform appearance, and finish and lighting should be evaluated with a real sample.

The color is commonly specified for branded displays, signage elements, and marketing installations where immediate visibility is required. It is also often selected for prototypes or concept models that communicate a bold brand personality.

Similar colors:
PMS 212 U: lighter and slightly softer, with reduced saturation and visual punch.
PMS 214 U: darker and more intense, with increased depth and weight.
PMS 219 U: brighter and more open, with a clearer pink character and less red influence.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 213 U

What does PMS 213 U represent for brand consistency and visual experience?

PMS 213 U is a Pantone PMS color used as a brand communication standard. It defines a visual color target so different vendors and materials can aim for the same appearance.

It is not a paint formula or finish specification. When you order paint matched to PMS 213 U, the goal is visual alignment to the Pantone reference so marketing, displays, and environments read as the same brand color.

What should I know before ordering custom matched PMS 213 U paint?

Paint matched to PMS 213 U is custom made to order. This means choices like product type and sheen should be confirmed before ordering.

Because Pantone colors are visual targets, the final appearance can vary by substrate, finish, and lighting. Sampling is recommended for high visibility or brand critical uses, especially since custom made items are harder to revise after production.

Why is PMS 213 U commonly specified for signs, displays, and exhibits?

PMS 213 U is often specified when fabricated elements must align with established brand standards. Using a Pantone reference helps fabricators, designers, and installers work toward a shared color target.

For signs, displays, and exhibits, evaluating a sample on the actual substrate is important. Material, finish, and lighting can all influence how the color is perceived in the final installation.

What paint product formats are available for PMS 213 U?

PMS 213 U is available as custom spray paint and other paint formats for branding and display applications. Options may include spray paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, and other coatings where offered.

The best format depends on how the color will be applied, the size of the area, and the level of visual control needed. Choosing the correct format helps reduce application issues and supports accurate brand presentation.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 213 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 213 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 213 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 213 U to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 213 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
