Pantone™ PMS 145 U

PMS 145 U is a Pantone color reference, not a surface specification. When PMS 145 U is applied to different textures, the perceived color can shift even if the match is accurate. Smooth surfaces reflect light more evenly and tend to look cleaner and slightly brighter. Textured or uneven substrates create shadows and scatter light, which can make PMS 145 U appear darker or less saturated.

If brand accuracy is critical, evaluate a sample of PMS 145 U on the actual substrate and texture you plan to use. This helps confirm the visual result under real lighting and viewing conditions.

PMS 145 U paint is custom matched to the Pantone standard, so shipping timelines depend on production time plus transit time. Transit time varies based on your location and the shipping method selected at checkout.

If you have a fixed install or launch date, plan extra time for production, transit, and on-site evaluation. Ordering early allows time to review the color on your substrate and address any adjustments before deadlines.

PMS 145 U defines a color target, not the chemistry or safety profile of the paint. VOC content and handling requirements depend on the specific product format you choose, such as spray paint or other paint types.

Always review the Safety Data Sheet for the exact product you are ordering and follow recommended ventilation, application, and handling guidelines. This is especially important for indoor brand displays or enclosed fabrication spaces.

The finish you choose can significantly affect how PMS 145 U is perceived. Gloss finishes reflect more light, which can make the color look stronger and more saturated, especially under bright lighting. Matte finishes reduce glare and reflections, but PMS 145 U may appear slightly softer or darker as a result.

Consider viewing distance, lighting conditions, and brand guidelines when deciding. For high-impact displays or logos meant to stand out, gloss is often preferred. For close-viewed elements or controlled lighting, matte may provide a more consistent look.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
