Pantone™ PMS 7408 U

Pantone PMS 7408 U includes a suffix that indicates the Pantone reference condition. The suffix matters because the same base number can represent different printed standards depending on the series. Before ordering, confirm that your brand guidelines, artwork files, or Pantone references explicitly call for PMS 7408 U and not another version. Pantone PMS codes are communication standards, so ordering the correct suffix helps avoid color approval issues later.

One spray can of Pantone PMS 7408 U typically covers about 12 square feet under normal application conditions. Actual coverage can vary based on surface texture, absorption, spray technique, and the number of coats needed. Highly saturated Pantone colors may require additional coats to achieve even color and full hide, so plan extra material for critical brand-facing work.

Pantone PMS 7408 U is commonly used for brand-facing elements in pop-ups and retail environments where visual color accuracy is important. For these applications, evaluate the color under the actual installed lighting and on the intended substrate before full production. Consider durability needs, finish selection, and expected handling so the appearance remains consistent throughout the installation.

Sampling Pantone PMS 7408 U is recommended for high-visibility brand projects, large installations, or any situation requiring formal brand approval. A sample lets you evaluate color appearance under real lighting conditions and on the actual substrate. Sampling is especially important for saturated Pantone colors, where finish, hide, and lighting can noticeably affect the final look.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
