Pantone™ PMS 124 U

Pantone PMS 124 U is a standardized color reference used in brand guidelines to ensure consistent visual appearance across printed materials, displays, and fabricated elements. When a brand specifies PMS 124 U, it is identifying a color target for visual alignment rather than a specific paint formula or finish. This is common in marketing displays, signage, exhibits, and prototype builds where brand consistency matters more than material-specific matching.

Because Pantone PMS colors are appearance-based standards, the final look of PMS 124 U should always be evaluated on the actual material and finish used in your project before full production.

Finish choice can significantly change how Pantone PMS 124 U is perceived. A gloss finish typically makes the color appear brighter and more saturated, while a satin or matte finish can make it look softer and slightly darker. Even when the same Pantone match is used, sheen differences can alter visual impact under real lighting conditions.

For brand-facing work, PMS 124 U should be reviewed in the intended finish and lighting environment to confirm it meets visual expectations before committing to large quantities.

When applying a Pantone PMS 124 U match to metal or previously powder-coated surfaces, proper surface preparation is critical. Existing coatings, surface texture, and gloss level can all influence how the color appears once applied. Light scuffing and thorough cleaning help promote adhesion and more uniform color appearance.

Because PMS 124 U is a visual standard, it is recommended to test the color on a prepared sample part. This allows you to evaluate coverage, sheen interaction, and overall appearance before proceeding with production parts.

Pantone PMS 124 U is available as custom spray paint and other paint formats commonly used for branding, display fabrication, and prototyping projects. Available options may include spray paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, and select coating types depending on your application needs.

Choosing the right format depends on part size, level of detail, and production workflow. For larger display elements, spray paint is typically preferred, while smaller graphics or markings may benefit from pen or brush-applied formats.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
