PMS 7726 C from the Pantone PMS collection is a deep, saturated blue-green color characterized by its technical and assertive presence. The color is associated with a modern, vivid, and energetic character, appearing cool and bold with a distinct green influence. It is often described as attention-commanding, purposeful, and precise, suitable for specifications demanding consistent, repeatable color across various branded materials.

PMS 7726 C presents as a dark color with a low LRV of 14.67, indicating limited light reflectance and contributing to its strong, saturated appearance. The color appears cool, with a pronounced teal-green hue and blue undertone. Saturation is high, making the color vivid on most substrates. The undertone leans toward blue within the green spectrum, giving it a clean, technical quality. The color’s perceived depth and chromatic intensity can shift based on finish; higher-gloss finishes will emphasize vibrancy, while matte finishes may slightly mute the teal depth.

PMS 7726 C works effectively when differentiation and a contemporary, assertive look are required, such as in branded environments, corporate displays, and identity-focused prototypes. For best results, evaluate painted samples under the intended lighting and with the planned sheen—this color’s richness and saturation can be visually altered by finish type and light conditions. Expect higher coverage demands than less saturated greens; additional coats may be needed for full opacity. Compared to similar dark teals, PMS 7726 C is more vivid and leans further toward green than many cool-toned alternatives.

Similar colors:

PMS 3282 C: Darker and cooler, with a deeper blue cast and more subdued chroma.

PMS 3292 C: Slightly more neutral, with reduced chroma and less vividness compared to PMS 7726 C.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7726 C

What challenges should I expect when matching Pantone PMS 7726 C in paint, and how does MyPerfectColor address them?

Pantone PMS 7726 C is a deep, saturated blue-green, and highly saturated Pantone colors can be especially challenging to match across paints and materials. Factors like substrate type, finish, and lighting can affect how the color appears. MyPerfectColor specializes in matching Pantone colors as precisely as possible for branding and display applications. Because the Pantone specification is a color target, not a paint formula, results may vary slightly between substrates or finishes. For high-visibility projects, it is recommended to evaluate a painted sample of PMS 7726 C under your actual lighting and with the planned sheen before full production.

How much area will a spray can of PMS 7726 C cover, and how do I estimate how much paint I need?

Each aerosol spray can of PMS 7726 C typically covers about 20 to 25 square feet per coat on a smooth, nonporous surface. Since PMS 7726 C is a dark and highly saturated color with a low LRV, two or more coats may be needed for maximum opacity and color richness, especially over contrasting base colors. Surface texture, porosity, and application technique can reduce effective coverage. For best results, estimate the area to be painted, multiply by the number of expected coats, and allow for some extra paint for testing and adjustments.

Why is PMS 7726 C a common choice for sign, display, and exhibit fabrication, and what should I consider before production?

PMS 7726 C is often specified in sign, display, and exhibit projects because it serves as a standardized brand color for consistent visual identity. Using Pantone PMS 7726 C keeps marketing and brand experiences visually aligned. However, differences in substrate and finish can influence how the color is perceived. Before final production, sample the painted color on the actual material and with the planned gloss level to confirm that it meets your specifications under the intended lighting conditions.

What are the key preparation steps when applying PMS 7726 C to metal or previously powder-coated parts?

Before painting metal or powder-coated parts with PMS 7726 C, thoroughly clean the surface to remove oils and dust, and scuff-sand any glossy coatings to ensure proper adhesion. Existing coatings, surface texture, and gloss level can affect the final appearance of PMS 7726 C. Because color can shift due to these variables, it is important to test the color on your actual parts and confirm the result before completing the entire project.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 7726 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
