Pantone™ PMS 7718 C

The surface texture can noticeably change how Pantone PMS 7718 C appears once applied. On smooth, glossy surfaces, PMS 7718 C will look more saturated and deeper, reflecting more light and highlighting the intensity of this teal shade. On matte or rougher substrates, the color may seem softer, slightly lighter, or even less saturated due to increased shadowing and reduced reflectivity. For consistent visual results, it is important to test PMS 7718 C in the intended finish and on the actual substrate before confirming production or installation.

Sampling PMS 7718 C is highly recommended for large, high-visibility brand projects, permanent installations, or any situation where accurate brand color is critical. This is especially important if appearance will be evaluated under specific lighting, on unfamiliar substrates, or in multiple finishes. Sampling helps confirm the final look and coverage, reducing risk of brand misalignment or unexpected color shifts. Always compare the sample to a physical Pantone standard in the intended environment before moving forward with a larger order.

Proper surface preparation is essential to achieve accurate and uniform results with PMS 7718 C. Begin by cleaning the substrate to remove dust, oils, and contaminants. If needed, degrease using an appropriate cleaner. Smooth, lightly scuff, or sand glossy surfaces to aid adhesion, and remove all residue before painting. It is also advisable to test a small area with PMS 7718 C to verify compatibility and color acceptance on your specific substrate. Adequate priming may be necessary, especially for high-contrast or light-colored bases.

Safety and VOC considerations for PMS 7718 C paint depend on the specific product and format you order. Always review the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for your selected paint, as requirements for ventilation, personal protective equipment, and handling will vary. Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
