PMS 7716 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, used globally for standardized color communication in marketing, brand, and display applications. The color presents a bold, technical, and vivid appearance with a distinctly modern and energized vibe. It is often perceived as clean and contemporary, with a strong chromatic presence and clear distinguishing power in visual identity contexts.

PMS 7716 C appears as a moderately dark blue-green based on its LRV of 23.79. The color shows a cool overall tendency, with slight aquatic or teal undertones. PMS 7716 C is highly saturated, contributing to vibrant color impact. The undertone is primarily balanced between blue and green, leaning closer to blue on the spectrum. The color is sensitive to finish; gloss or satin will intensify the chroma and perceived depth, while matte finishes may reduce apparent saturation.

PMS 7716 C is effective in brand-facing applications or display environments that require a visually distinctive, highly recognizable blue-green. Evaluate the color on your chosen substrate and finish before full implementation, as surface gloss and ambient lighting can shift apparent hue and saturation. Compared with similarly vivid blue-green colors, PMS 7716 C presents a sharper blue leaning and may appear darker under low lighting or matte sheens. Always verify with physical samples for brand-critical use.

Similar colors:
PMS 7724 C – Slightly lighter and greener, appearing less blue and more vibrant.

PMS 7712 C – Cooler and bluer, with less green influence and appearing a touch lighter.

PMS 3155 C – Less saturated and a bit more muted, with a softer teal presence.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7716 C

How is Pantone PMS 7716 C used in sign, display, and exhibit fabrication?

Pantone PMS 7716 C serves as a brand-standard target for many sign, display, and exhibit projects, especially where brand consistency and visual recognition matter. Many brand specifications call for PMS 7716 C to be used on fabricated elements like signage, fixtures, or background panels. Because factors such as material, priming, and finish can influence the final appearance, it is essential to sample PMS 7716 C on your actual substrate and in the intended finish type before final production. This helps confirm that the color meets brand expectations under real-world conditions and minimizes risk of surprises in critical brand environments.

What product formats are available for Pantone PMS 7716 C?

Pantone PMS 7716 C is available as custom spray paint and other paint formats suitable for branding and display applications. You can typically order PMS 7716 C as spray paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, and in select cases as epoxy or urethane coatings. Choosing the right format depends on your application's needs, substrate, and the type of coverage or finish required. For most signage, displays, and exhibit components, spray paint offers efficient and even application, while paint pens or small bottles work best for smaller details or prototypes. Select the product that aligns with the substrate and your project's visibility requirements.

How can lighting affect the appearance of PMS 7716 C in my project?

The appearance of Pantone PMS 7716 C can shift significantly depending on lighting conditions, finish, and the environment where the color is viewed. Cool or warm light sources may make PMS 7716 C appear more blue or green, and gloss finishes often enhance its saturation compared to matte finishes. For accurate brand representation, always evaluate a physical sample of PMS 7716 C on your chosen substrate under the actual lighting where the finished piece will be installed. This is especially important for brand-critical displays, signage, or multi-element environments.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 7716 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
