Pantone™ PMS 7714 C

Pantone PMS 7714 C is a standardized color reference for specifying a target shade, but it does not define sheen, substrate, or application process. This means using PMS 7714 C as a touch-up standard for existing painted items is not recommended. Variations in original finish, gloss, or base material can cause a visible mismatch even if the base color is correct. For best results, touch-up work should reference the original product's exact paint formula, application method, and finish to ensure consistency.

Paint matched to Pantone PMS 7714 C is made to order, so production lead times usually depend on the type of paint you choose and current order volume. Most standard custom-matched paint products for branding, display, or prototyping ship within several business days after your order is placed. For large projects or highly specialized formats, allow additional time for formulation and quality checks. If you have a strict deadline for a marketing or display installation, it is best to check estimated ship dates before placing your order.

Pantone PMS 7714 C is commonly specified to maintain brand alignment in prototype and concept model workflows. To achieve visually consistent results, select a paint format that is appropriate for your prototype material, such as spray paint for even coverage or paint pens for detail work. Keep in mind that different finishes (matte, satin, gloss) and lighting can affect the perceived color, so it is important to review painted samples under the expected use conditions. For saturated colors like PMS 7714 C, plan for multiple coats and consider priming with a neutral base to ensure color uniformity.

When applying PMS 7714 C matched paint to plastics or other low-energy materials, it is important to recognize that surface type affects paint adhesion. Some plastics require specialized primers or adhesion promoters for best results. Before full production or display use, apply the paint to a test area of your specific plastic substrate to confirm coverage and durability. For highly saturated shades like PMS 7714 C, using a white or neutral primer can also help improve color consistency and hide.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
