PMS 7708 C is from the Pantone PMS system, commonly used for specification in branding, marketing, and industrial design. The color presents as a deep, cool blue characterized by dark value, strong chromaticity, and a technical, assertive vibe. PMS 7708 C often signals precision, modernity, and reliability in visual communications.
PMS 7708 C has a dark appearance; the LRV (light reflectance value) is 7.82, indicating low reflectance. The color is distinctly cool-toned, with a blue hue shifted slightly towards the green edge of the blue spectrum. Saturation is high, resulting in a vivid, assertive color presence. The undertone is clean and true blue, without visible warmth or obvious muted influence. The color’s vividness and low lightness make it more finish-sensitive, especially in gloss applications, where the perception of depth and richness increases.
PMS 7708 C is frequently associated with use in environmental graphics, event displays, and branded fixtures where a strong, recognizably deep blue is specified. This color often appears in wayfinding systems, signage, and branded exhibit materials requiring consistent color reproduction across substrates.
PMS 7708 C works well where a saturated, deep blue is needed to deliver visual impact and technical clarity. For best results, evaluate the color under the actual lighting and finish planned for the end use, as differences in gloss and site lighting can accentuate or diminish its intensity. Owing to its low LRV and high saturation, this color may require multiple coats for uniform coverage, especially over contrasting substrates. Compared to similar deep blues, PMS 7708 C reads cooler and more chromatic, standing out in modern branding systems.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

Pantone PMS 7708 C is a deep, highly saturated blue that can be challenging to match exactly across different paint types and substrates. Factors such as finish, surface texture, and application technique influence the final appearance. MyPerfectColor formulates PMS 7708 C to visually match the official Pantone standard as closely as possible for paint. For brand-facing displays and prototypes, this is usually sufficient. However, for high-visibility installations or approval-critical projects, always compare the painted sample to a physical Pantone reference under your actual lighting conditions before full production. This helps ensure your results align with branding expectations and avoids surprises after installation.
PMS 7708 C is a low-LRV, saturated blue that can highlight application variation on large surfaces. For best uniformity, use a consistent application method and complete each section without breaks or overlaps. Plan for multiple coats, especially if painting over a contrasting color. Between coats, allow proper drying; switching tools or techniques mid-project can cause visible differences. Stagger seams and spray or roll in a uniform direction when possible. Evaluate the result under the actual lighting and finish planned for display to confirm color depth appears even across all surfaces.
For accurate approval comparisons of PMS 7708 C paint, view both your painted sample and the official Pantone reference in the same lighting, side by side, and on similar surfaces. Allow the paint to fully dry and cure before judging color, as color and gloss can shift during this period. Use consistent viewing angles and avoid comparing samples on strongly different substrates, as gloss and texture differences can affect color perception. This approach helps ensure you are judging PMS 7708 C accurately according to your project requirements and brand standards.
Priming is recommended when applying PMS 7708 C over bare, porous, or highly contrasting surfaces. A primer creates a uniform base, improves adhesion, and enhances color coverage, which is especially important for deep, saturated blues like PMS 7708 C. If you are using the paint on metal, wood, plastic, or previously painted areas that are worn or uneven in color, priming helps achieve a clean, consistent appearance. Choose a primer compatible with your chosen paint type and project conditions. For specific primer selection guidance, consult the product information provided for your paint format.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
