PMS 7705 C is a standardized color from the Pantone PMS collection, designed for brand and specification use in professional environments. The color conveys an assertive, modern, and professional presence, with a technical and robust vibe suitable for applications where accurate, recognizable color is required. This color is often valued in scenarios where consistency across substrates and visual impact are key to presenting cohesive branding or design intent.
PMS 7705 C appears dark in value (LRV 13.79), providing substantial depth and presence. The color exhibits a cool tendency, rooted in its blue hue angle. This color is moderately to highly saturated, resulting in vibrant and strong color identity. PMS 7705 C carries blue-green undertones, which become more pronounced in direct or natural lighting. The color is somewhat sensitive to finish; higher gloss finishes will increase vibrancy, while matte finishes will subdue depth and richness. PMS 7705 C may have lower hide compared to more muted hues, which can affect coverage expectations in high-saturation applications.
PMS 7705 C is typically selected for projects demanding a strong, distinctive color statement where brand or design standards require close matching. It performs well on rigid substrates and displays but should be visually evaluated under intended lighting since finish and viewing conditions can shift perceived hue and saturation. When compared to other colors in this chromatic family, PMS 7705 C presents a deeper and slightly cooler profile, making it useful for scenarios where intensity and coolness are prerequisites. In application, thorough surface preparation and adequate coats are important to achieve full opacity, especially over light or contrasting backgrounds.
Similar colors:
PMS 7710 C is bluer and less intense, appearing lighter and less saturated.
PMS 3145 C is slightly darker and more neutral, reducing the chromatic vibrancy found in PMS 7705 C.
PMS teal 320 C is lighter and distinctly greener, lacking the deep blue-green profile of PMS 7705 C.
PMS 7693 C is darker and more muted, resulting in a more understated effect compared to PMS 7705 C.

PMS 7705 C is a deep, highly saturated color that may require more coats than less intense paints to achieve full coverage and uniform color. Because bright and bold Pantone colors like PMS 7705 C often have lower hide, it is important to plan for additional coats, especially over light, unprimed, or contrasting substrates. Always review your surface preparation and coating thickness to ensure the color reaches its intended opacity and richness. Testing a small area can help preview the coverage and make accurate material estimates before starting a full-scale project.
For brand approval processes, it is recommended to order a sample of PMS 7705 C in the intended product type and sheen before committing to larger quantities. Evaluate the sample under the same lighting conditions and on the same substrate as the final installation to confirm visual alignment with brand requirements. This step reduces the risk of mismatch and helps ensure that PMS 7705 C appears as expected in its final environment. Approval samples support confident decisions for rollouts in marketing, display, or fabrication projects.
Safety and VOC (volatile organic compound) levels for PMS 7705 C paint depend on the specific product format and formulation you select. It is important to review the safety data sheet (SDS) and product instructions for the type of paint you are using. Always follow recommended practices for ventilation, personal protection, and handling. If you have special requirements for VOC content or environmental conditions, confirm with the supplier before ordering to ensure compliance with your project standards.
Proper surface preparation is key to achieving brand-consistent results with PMS 7705 C. Begin by cleaning the substrate to remove dust, grease, or any loose material. For nonporous or gloss surfaces, light scuff sanding may be needed to improve adhesion. Make sure the surface is completely dry and free from residue. Testing PMS 7705 C on a small, inconspicuous area first can help verify compatibility and appearance before full application, particularly on new or unfamiliar substrates.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7705 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
