PMS 7694 C from the Pantone PMS system is a dark blue with a subdued, professional vibe and cool undertones. This color is often described as technical, restrained, serious, and reliable. The Pantone PMS collection is widely used for ensuring brand color consistency in signage, displays, and marketing environments where accurate communication of specified hues is critical.

PMS 7694 C appears as a very dark color, with an LRV of 4.94 indicating minimal light reflectance. The color has a cool orientation due to its blue base and undertone. PMS 7694 C exhibits medium-to-low chroma, resulting in a less saturated, more muted appearance compared to vibrant blues. This color carries greyish undertones, giving it a more professional and understated look. The deep tone of PMS 7694 C may reveal subtle differences in finish; glossy finishes can make the color appear slightly richer, while matte finishes can accentuate its muted quality.

PMS 7694 C works well in environments where a strong, corporate-associated blue is needed without overwhelming brightness or saturation. It is commonly specified for applications where visual stability and professionalism are desired, such as in corporate branding, wayfinding, or fabricated display elements. Because it is a deep and muted blue, PMS 7694 C can appear darker in low lighting, and shifts in perceived hue and brightness may occur with different sheens or finishes. Proper substrate preparation and adequate undercoating are recommended to achieve uniform coverage, especially over lighter surfaces, due to the low LRV and muted chroma of the color.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7694 C

How does the choice of finish affect the appearance of Pantone PMS 7694 C in branding and display applications?

The finish or sheen you select for Pantone PMS 7694 C significantly influences how the color appears. Glossy finishes will make PMS 7694 C look somewhat richer and may enhance the depth of the blue, while matte finishes tend to emphasize the color's muted, professional quality. Because PMS 7694 C has a low light reflectance value and gray undertones, it can look noticeably darker and less saturated in matte or satin finishes. Consider how different sheens will be seen under your project's typical lighting and review samples on your actual material when color-critical consistency is required.

What are the lead time and expedited production options for Pantone PMS 7694 C paint orders?

Lead times for Pantone PMS 7694 C paint can vary depending on product format, order size, and current demand. If you have a fixed deadline or urgent marketing need, you can select expedited production during the checkout process. For critical deadlines, it is best to contact MyPerfectColor for confirmation before placing an order to ensure your timeline can be met.

Why is Pantone PMS 7694 C often specified for signs and display fabrication, and what should I consider when matching this color?

Pantone PMS 7694 C is specified for signs, displays, and exhibit components when brand consistency is critical. Using a Pantone reference ensures you are targeting the same color standard used throughout your brand. However, color appearance can vary based on substrate, finish, and lighting. For best results, sample PMS 7694 C on the actual materials used in your project, especially for large or high-visibility applications, to verify that the final product meets expectations under real-world conditions.

When is sampling recommended before full production of Pantone PMS 7694 C paint?

Sampling is strongly recommended for Pantone PMS 7694 C when the project is high-visibility, such as branded environments, permanent installations, or when multiple materials need to look visually consistent. Sampling helps confirm how PMS 7694 C will look on your chosen substrate and under actual lighting conditions. This step is especially advised when formal brand approvals are required or when variations in sheen and lighting could affect the perceived color.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 7694 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
