Pantone™ PMS 7690 C

When using PMS 7690 C for prototypes or concept models, select a paint format that matches the intended application and substrate, such as spray paint for even coverage or brush-in-cap bottles for detailed work. To ensure brand visual alignment, evaluate painted samples under the lighting and finish expected in the final setting. Because PMS 7690 C is a saturated blue, its appearance may change depending on gloss level and lighting. Test coverage on your actual substrate, especially for darker materials, as several coats may be needed to achieve full color density. Confirm that the visual result aligns with your brand standards before proceeding to final builds.

For brand approval workflows, order a small sample of PMS 7690 C in the specific paint format and sheen you plan to use on your finished project. Apply the sample to the actual substrate you intend to use and view it under the installed lighting conditions. This helps you accurately assess color alignment since finish, surface type, and lighting can all affect how PMS 7690 C is perceived. Securing signoff on this tested sample minimizes risks and ensures consistency before moving forward with large quantities or production runs.

When reordering PMS 7690 C, use the same paint type, sheen, and application method as your approved sample to maintain consistency. Even with standardized Pantone codes, small differences can occur between paint batches due to variations in materials and production processes. Always use a retained standard or a signed-off panel from your last order as a reference for future runs. Evaluating new batches under the same lighting and on the same substrate will help ensure the visual result remains aligned with your brand requirements.

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for PMS 7690 C is determined by the paint product type, not the Pantone color code itself. To find the correct SDS, select the specific paint format you plan to order, such as spray paint or acrylic, and look up the SDS for that product in the SDS library or resources provided by MyPerfectColor. If you need assistance, contact customer support with your product selection, and they can provide the relevant SDS documentation.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
