PMS 7653 C is a standardized Pantone PMS color, formulated for use in the Pantone Matching System. It appears as a medium-dark, muted purple shade with restrained vibrancy. This color projects a quiet, understated presence, combining elements of sophistication and stability without being overly bold or saturated. The overall vibe is muted, professional, versatile, subtle, and reserved.

PMS 7653 C has a medium-deep appearance, with a numeric LRV of 25.76 indicating moderate darkness. The color is categorized as cool due to its purple undertone, with hints of muted warmth. The saturation level is moderate to low, resulting in a subdued visual impact. The undertone moves toward plum or mauve, showing subdued red-violet qualities. The color can shift in appearance depending on finish, with higher sheens emphasizing purplish notes, while matts or eggshells mute the hue further.

PMS 7653 C works well in environments where a calm, composed brand presence is desired. It is often specified for signage, displays, and corporate installations that benefit from a reserved but distinct color accent. Color appearance is sensitive to lighting and finish: in warm lighting, red undertones may become more prominent, while cooler light emphasizes the violet aspect. Consistent substrate preparation and evaluation of finish sheen are important to maintain uniformity. Compared to other muted purples, PMS 7653 C is slightly richer and less gray, offering a balanced alternative that avoids appearing too vibrant or somber.

Similar colors:
PMS 7655 C – Slightly lighter and both warmer and more saturated, with a more pronounced red tone.

PMS 7650 C – Darker and more neutral, with a lower chroma; less apparent purple vibrance.

PMS 7649 C – Deeper and more muted, trending toward a brownish-purple rather than a true plum.

PMS 209 C – Darker and significantly redder, appearing more like a burgundy or deep wine.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7653 C

How do I make sure I am ordering the correct version of Pantone PMS 7653 C for my brand application?

Always confirm the exact Pantone code and suffix for PMS 7653 C from your official brand standards or documentation before ordering. Pantone PMS codes often include suffixes such as C, U, or M to indicate different paper types or print systems, and these suffixes can influence the intended color reference. Using the wrong code or omitting the suffix may result in a final color that does not align with your approved brand color. Review all project specs to ensure you are referencing PMS 7653 C exactly as required for your brand consistency.

What should I know about shipping transit times when ordering PMS 7653 C paint for a project deadline?

Shipping transit times for PMS 7653 C paint depend on your delivery location and the shipping service you select at checkout. Allow extra time beyond production for transit, especially if your project has a strict deadline. Expedited shipping options may be available, but all shipping estimates are subject to carrier schedules and geographic restrictions. Plan ahead to ensure timely delivery for your brand rollout or event.

What is the best way to compare a PMS 7653 C paint sample during a brand approval process?

When evaluating a PMS 7653 C paint sample for brand approval, compare samples under consistent and relevant lighting conditions, and use the actual substrate and finish intended for your installation. Make sure the paint is fully dry and cured before making final judgments about the color match, as colors can shift during the drying process. Using these methods helps ensure you achieve the closest possible brand alignment and avoid surprises after installation.

Is Pantone PMS 7653 C paint suitable for repairing existing coatings, or do I need to provide a part for an exact match?

Pantone PMS 7653 C paint is designed for brand reproduction on new signage, displays, and marketing assets, not for repairing or touching up unknown or faded coatings. If you need to match color on an existing part with high precision for repair, it is best to send a physical part for a custom match. Standard Pantone color matching is ideal for brand-oriented projects where the PMS reference is specified, but not for touch-up applications.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7653 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 7653 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 7653 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
