PMS 7619 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (PMS), a global standard for color specification in branding, display fabrication, and industrial design. This color presents as a moderately dark, muted red with earthy, brownish undertones, contributing to a grounded, professional, and understated visual profile. The general vibe includes practical, stable, muted, organic, and reliable attributes that support brand consistency across varied environments.

PMS 7619 C is moderately dark, with an LRV of 16.64, resulting in limited reflectivity and a sense of visual weight. The color reads as warm, due to red and brownish undertones. The saturation is moderate rather than vivid or primary, giving the color a muted, earthy character. The undertone is specifically brownish, which sets it apart from more vibrant reds and enhances its versatility as a grounding color. PMS 7619 C may respond noticeably to changes in finish or sheen, appearing richer and slightly deeper in glossier or wet finishes.

PMS 7619 C works well when an organization or designer requires a warm, muted red that is less aggressive than bright red but still anchors visual identity elements clearly. Evaluate this color under intended lighting conditions, as it absorbs more light than typical reds, and ensure that higher-sheen finishes do not overpower its muted qualities. Compared to typical vibrant reds, PMS 7619 C will appear more grounded and less likely to clash with adjacent earth tones or neutral palettes.

Similar colors:
PMS 7622 C – Deeper and more saturated, with a more intense, dramatic character.

PMS 7523 C – Lighter, with a slightly pinker and less earthy appearance.

PMS 1807 C – Similar depth, but with a more neutral, less brownish undertone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7619 C

What are the best practices for approving or comparing PMS 7619 C across samples?

When approving or comparing PMS 7619 C samples, evaluate them under consistent lighting and on the same substrate planned for use in your project. Make sure any coating is fully dry or cured before making a final judgment, as color and sheen can shift as the coating sets. Comparing wet and dry samples or viewing under different lighting can result in perceived mismatches, so keeping these variables controlled helps support brand consistency and correct decisions.

Multiple coats may be necessary, especially if painting over a light or highly contrasting surface. Proper surface preparation and allowing each coat to dry before recoating will help achieve a consistent, brand-accurate result.

Why does PMS 7619 C look different under various lighting conditions?

Can I use the Pantone PMS 7619 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
