PMS 7523 C from the Pantone PMS system presents a restrained, organic character, combining soft warmth with an understated, muted quality. Commonly described as natural, approachable, subdued, and balanced, this shade supports visual identity systems where reliability and understated impact are important. The color carries a warm presence with a fairly low light reflectance value (LRV), suggesting a medium-dark appearance that anchors displays and brand elements without overwhelming.
PMS 7523 C appears medium-dark with an LRV of 20.14, offering solid coverage and visual presence on most substrates. The color is distinctly warm, leaning toward an earthy, muted rose with soft brown undertones. Saturation is moderate; the color reads as muted rather than vivid or bright. Undertones are quiet and brownish, supporting a grounded and approachable effect. Finish selection can slightly enhance or reduce the perceived earthiness—matte and eggshell finishes will reinforce the color’s muted aspect, while gloss may increase vibrancy.
PMS 7523 C works well for branding, display, and prototype applications seeking a warm yet restrained accent that is neither stark nor overly saturated. The color’s muted red-brown character is stable across a range of lighting, but it may shift toward a dustier or softer appearance under cool, bluish lighting—test samples are recommended. Surface prep should focus on even texture to prevent shadowing, as the color’s moderate darkness can accentuate imperfections on highly textured substrates. When compared to other muted warm tones, PMS 7523 C offers a visually stable and balanced presence without the intensity or bias of redder or more chromatic options.

The finish you select for Pantone PMS 7523 C can noticeably influence how the color is perceived in real-world settings. Matte and eggshell finishes will make the muted, organic quality more apparent, reinforcing the subdued look and minimizing reflectivity. Gloss or satin finishes will enhance vibrancy and increase apparent brightness, which may make PMS 7523 C look slightly more lively or saturated than a flat swatch. When brand consistency is important, always test the finish on your actual substrate before full-scale production to confirm you are achieving your desired visual impact.
The appearance of Pantone PMS 7523 C can change depending on the material you are coating due to differences in absorption, surface texture, and reflectivity. For example, a smooth metal panel may reflect more light and appear slightly brighter than the same color on textured plastic or fabric. Additionally, porous surfaces may deepen or dull the color compared to non-porous ones. For the best match to your brand standards, always sample PMS 7523 C on the actual substrate used in your final build before committing to production.
For brand approval workflows, the recommended approach is to order a sample of PMS 7523 C in the intended finish and paint format, then evaluate it on your actual substrate under the expected lighting conditions. This step lets you confirm that PMS 7523 C appears brand-consistent before making a larger purchase, reducing risk of mismatched branding or costly revisions. Approvals based on physical samples are especially important for large or permanent installations.
Pantone PMS 7523 C is intended for brand color reproduction in displays, signage, and prototypes, where the Pantone reference is the visual target. If you need a touch-up or repair match to an existing coating, especially if the original part has aged or was custom formulated, sending a sample part for direct matching is best. Pantone matching is not designed to match the appearance of weathered, aged, or specialty coatings already in use.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
