PMS 7615 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, used internationally for precise color specification in branding, marketing, and industrial design. This color exhibits a grounded and warm vibe, with understated and muted qualities that lend a natural, stable, and approachable aesthetic in branded environments or display applications.

PMS 7615 C appears as a dark, earthy orange-red. The color has a moderate to low light reflectance value (LRV 15.63), resulting in a deeper, richer appearance on surfaces. PMS 7615 C is characterized by a warm tendency due to its orange-red base. The color exhibits muted, medium saturation, reducing visual harshness while maintaining noticeable color identity. Undertones are subtle and natural, veering more toward red than yellow, supporting an organic quality. This color may appear slightly deeper or more subdued in matte finishes compared to gloss, due to its lower LRV.

PMS 7615 C works well when a brand or project requires an earthy, stable accent without overpowering brightness. It maintains its color integrity under various lighting conditions but can appear darker in low light or when applied with flat finishes. Evaluate on the intended substrate and in final lighting, as lower LRV colors like this can shift in perceived depth and richness. Surfaces should be properly primed for consistent, uniform appearance, as muted saturated colors can show unevenness if not applied over a stable base.

Similar colors:

  • PMS 7624 C: Similar hue but appears darker and redder, increasing visual weight.
  • PMS 158 C: Brighter and more orange, resulting in a higher chroma and more energetic appearance.
  • PMS 1807 C: Close in depth but redder and slightly cooler, decreasing the presence of orange undertones.
  • PMS 7417 C: Lighter and noticeably more saturated, producing a bolder, more vivid effect.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7615 C

What is the difference between the Pantone name and code for PMS 7615 C, and how should I specify it when ordering paint?

PMS 7615 C refers to a specific color standard in the Pantone Matching System. The code 'PMS 7615 C' is the most precise way to identify the exact target color for your order. When ordering paint, always reference the complete code, including the suffix (such as 'C' for coated), as similar codes may represent different shades. Using only the name without the code can lead to mistakes, so always include the full Pantone code 'PMS 7615 C' to ensure you receive the correct color.

Is PMS 7615 C paint custom made, and what should I consider before placing an order?

PMS 7615 C paint is custom mixed to match the Pantone standard for each order. Because custom Pantone matches are produced specifically for you, returns and order changes are limited once production begins. Carefully confirm the paint type, sheen, and quantity you need before ordering. If you have strict appearance requirements or are working on a high-visibility project, it is recommended to test a sample on your actual substrate and lighting conditions before committing to a full order.

Why might PMS 7615 C look different on various materials or substrates?

PMS 7615 C may look different when applied to different substrates due to how materials absorb and reflect paint. Texture, gloss level, and surface preparation all impact the final appearance. For example, PMS 7615 C can appear deeper and more subdued on matte or textured substrates and may seem richer or brighter on smooth or glossy surfaces. To achieve the closest match to your brand standards, evaluate PMS 7615 C on the specific material and finish intended for your project before finalizing your selection.

How can I get help choosing the right paint type for PMS 7615 C for my application?

If you are unsure which paint format is best for PMS 7615 C, contact MyPerfectColor with details about your substrate, whether the application is indoors or outdoors, and your desired finish. The team can help you select from options like spray paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, or other available formats to meet your brand and project requirements.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7615 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 7615 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Can I use the Pantone PMS 7615 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 7615 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7615 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
