PMS 7417 C from the Pantone PMS collection is a bold, highly chromatic color with an energetic and technical character. The color is best described as vibrant, assertive, and attention-grabbing, projecting a clear, modern, and visually striking presence. Its relatively strong chroma and moderate lightness support applications where standout visibility is required in brand, marketing, and display environments.
PMS 7417 C appears as a vivid red-orange, sitting between red and orange on the color spectrum. The color has a moderate-to-low light reflectance value (LRV 22.93), appearing neither very dark nor particularly light. PMS 7417 C demonstrates a warm hue bias, influenced by both red and orange undertones. The color exhibits high saturation, resulting in a pronounced and lively appearance. This color has a strong, warm undertone, with no significant neutrality or muting. The color’s finish and surface gloss can cause perceptual shifts, with higher gloss finishes intensifying its depth and vibrancy. Surface preparation is important, as high chroma colors may exhibit reduced hiding power over contrasting substrates.
PMS 7417 C is often specified in brand standards for retail display components, promotional materials, and event signage. The color is used where brands seek maximum visual impact and immediate viewer attention, such as pop-up activations or point-of-purchase graphics.
PMS 7417 C works well for visual elements requiring immediate recognition or energy, including branded signage, displays, and marketing collateral. Due to its high chroma and moderate lightness, it is recommended to apply over primed or similar-hued substrates for accurate color development and adequate coverage. Lighting can significantly affect the perceived warmth and saturation of this color; controlled, neutral lighting is preferred during evaluation. Compared to similar warm, saturated colors, PMS 7417 C maintains a distinctive balance between red and orange, giving it a uniquely bold yet contemporary edge.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

PMS 7417 C is a standardized Pantone PMS color code used to ensure that your brand color appears consistently across displays, graphics, signage, and environments. By specifying PMS 7417 C, all vendors and production partners have a clear visual target for matching the color. This helps deliver a unified, recognizable brand identity in marketing materials and branded spaces, regardless of paint type or substrate. Always reference a physical Pantone standard and verify results in the intended lighting and finish for the most consistent brand experience.
When you order paint matched to PMS 7417 C, you are requesting a color that visually matches the Pantone PMS 7417 C standard sample. It is important to know that the PMS code defines a color target, not an exact formulation or finish. The resulting paint aims to closely match the standard under typical viewing conditions, but appearance can vary with paint type, gloss level, and lighting. For brand-facing work, evaluate a sample in your setting to confirm visual alignment before full-scale production.
The SDS for paint matched to PMS 7417 C depends on the paint product selected, not the color code itself. Locate the SDS by referring to the specific product type (for example, spray paint or acrylic) in the site's SDS library. Review the SDS for guidance on safe handling, application, and disposal for your chosen product format.
For best results with PMS 7417 C spray paint, apply multiple thin coats rather than one heavy coat. Allow each layer to dry adequately before applying the next to achieve even coverage and optimal color. Vivid colors like PMS 7417 C may require additional coats, especially over contrasting substrates. Always test on a sample surface first to assess coverage and appearance before full application.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
