Pantone™ PMS 7608 C

PMS 7608 C is a standardized color reference from the Pantone PMS system. It specifies only the visual color target and not the original product's sheen, texture, substrate, or application method. As a result, using PMS 7608 C for touch-up may lead to visible differences in gloss, texture, or color due to variations in the original coating and wear conditions. For best results, Pantone PMS colors like PMS 7608 C should be used for new branding or display projects where full, consistent application is possible, not for spot repairs or blending with existing finishes.

The choice between matte and gloss for PMS 7608 C impacts how the color is perceived. Gloss finishes tend to make this deep, earthy red look richer and increase its visual impact but may also introduce glare under strong lighting. Matte finishes create a more subdued, uniform look, reducing reflections and making the color appear softer and less saturated. Consider where and how your project will be viewed: gloss may enhance vibrancy at a distance or in branded environments needing extra punch, while matte can help avoid glare in well-lit settings or create a more understated effect. Always preview sample panels under your actual lighting conditions before final selection.

The look of PMS 7608 C can change significantly depending on lighting and surrounding conditions. Different light sources may emphasize warmer or cooler undertones, and the color's depth can appear darker in low light or richer with certain finishes. This is especially important for branding and display, where consistency matters. Always review PMS 7608 C samples in the exact lighting and environment where the final product will be used to confirm the appearance meets your expectations.

When specifying PMS 7608 C for metal or powder-coated objects, surface preparation is important. Cleaning and lightly scuffing the surface improves adhesion and finish uniformity. The final color of PMS 7608 C can be affected by the substrate color, existing coating, and gloss. Variations in these factors may cause the finished part to appear different from the reference target. To achieve the best brand consistency, apply a sample of PMS 7608 C to a prepared section of your actual substrate under real lighting, and confirm appearance before committing to production.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7608 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
