PMS 7598 C, from the Pantone PMS collection, is a deep, grounded shade with a distinctly earthy and warm vibe. The color reads as robust, natural, and subdued, with a technical and grounded character. The relatively low light reflectance value (LRV 15.5) enhances its depth and visual weight, making it effective for applications that require an anchoring or stabilizing feel within branded environments.

PMS 7598 C appears as a dark, muted orange-brown, with significant visual depth due to its low LRV (15.5). The color exhibits a warm tendency, with a noticeable orange influence moderated by an earthy brown undertone. PMS 7598 C presents medium to high saturation, contributing to a sense of richness without excessive vibrancy. The undertone is distinctly earthy, reading as natural and stable rather than vivid or synthetic. The color’s appearance can shift markedly with finish—higher sheens may emphasize orange notes, while low sheens deepen its muted, brownish presence.

PMS 7598 C is often referenced in branding for natural foods, beverage packaging, and outdoor lifestyle products, where an earthy, trustworthy appearance supports category positioning.

PMS 7598 C is well-suited for brand-facing displays, fixtures, and environments where a sense of grounded warmth and authenticity is required. When specifying this color, be aware that its depth can cause pronounced shifts under differing lighting conditions; natural daylight will bring out orange elements, while artificial or low lighting may make it read browner and even more subdued. The color may show more visible variation with higher-gloss finishes, so a matte or satin finish is generally preferred for even, natural results. Compared to other similarly dark Pantone oranges, PMS 7598 C is less vivid and more rooted in brown, resulting in a less saturated and more stable appearance.

Similar colors:
PMS 7586 C — Slightly lighter and more chromatic, with a clearer orange emphasis.

PMS 7587 C — Warmer and more saturated, showing a boosted red-orange aspect.

PMS 7599 C — Deeper and browner, with significantly less chroma and nearly no orange overtone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7598 C

How can I ensure consistent results when reordering paint for Pantone PMS 7598 C?

To keep results visually consistent for Pantone PMS 7598 C across repeat orders, always use the same product type, sheen, and application process for every run. Stick to the same approval method, such as comparing samples to the same Pantone reference under consistent lighting. Variations in material, gloss, or paint technology can cause visible shifts, especially with a deep, earthy color like PMS 7598 C. If color consistency is critical for your brand environment, avoid changing formats or finishes mid-project.

What should I consider when applying PMS 7598 C to metal or powder-coated parts?

Before painting metal or powder-coated items with PMS 7598 C, ensure all surfaces are clean and properly scuffed for adhesion. Existing coatings and gloss can strongly influence the final appearance, especially for colors with pronounced undertones like this earthy orange-brown. Always test on a sample part to check for unexpected color shifts or sheen differences. Matte or satin finishes are generally preferred to reduce visible variation and offer a more stable result.

What are best practices for approving color samples of Pantone PMS 7598 C?

When evaluating Pantone PMS 7598 C samples, compare them under consistent lighting and on the same substrate you will use for final production. Always allow paint to dry and fully cure, as this color's muted orange-brown tone can appear different when wet or semi-dry. If possible, use multiple lighting types to confirm acceptance, since this shade can shift from more orange in daylight to browner in artificial light. Agree on an approval viewing method in advance to reduce risk of disputes.

What is the recommended application method for Pantone PMS 7598 C spray paint?

For best results with PMS 7598 C spray paint, apply several thin coats rather than one heavy coat. Allow proper drying or flash time between coats, as multiple light layers provide more even color and coverage, especially for colors with strong undertones and low LRV like PMS 7598 C. Rushing the application or using heavy coats can cause streaking, uneven sheen, or visible defects. Follow product instructions and sample on a small area first.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 7598 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
