PMS 7587 C, part of the Pantone PMS collection, is recognized for its earthy, substantial impression and is regularly seen in contexts prioritizing brand consistency. PMS 7587 C has a grounded, subdued, and warm character, with a matte or semi-gloss finish typically supporting its visual intent. The vibe is practical, stable, and approachable, often appearing both contemporary and classic within identity systems.

PMS 7587 C appears dark, with a lower light reflectance value (LRV 11.48). The color exhibits a distinctly warm tendency. Saturation is moderate, providing strong chromatic presence without being overly vivid or bright. Undertones lean toward a muted terracotta or rust, contributing to its earthy quality. This color is moderately sensitive to finish; gloss may amplify warmth and depth, while matte can create a more understated, organic appearance.

PMS 7587 C is suited for applications where a grounded, earthy orange is desired to convey reliability and warmth without excessive intensity. It performs well in branded displays, retail experiences, and environments seeking to bridge traditional and modern tones. The color’s moderate chroma helps it maintain legibility and visibility in a range of lighting conditions. When using this color, be mindful of the finish, as high gloss can increase perceived saturation. Consistent surface preparation ensures uniform appearance, especially due to lower LRV which can make surface imperfections more visible compared to lighter colors.

Similar colors:
PMS 7579 C: Lighter and more vivid orange, produces a stronger visual impact.

PMS 7586 C: Slightly darker and more muted, offers a more subdued effect.

PMS 7592 C: Richer and more red-toned, resulting in a distinctly warmer and deeper appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7587 C

What should I know about coverage and hiding power when using PMS 7587 C paint?

PMS 7587 C is a dark, earthy orange with moderate saturation and a low light reflectance value (LRV 11.48). Because of its richness and depth, achieving full, uniform coverage may require more coats than lighter or less saturated colors, especially over high-contrast surfaces. Plan surface preparation and application steps accordingly. Proper priming and multiple coats help achieve consistent brand appearance for marketing and display uses.

How do I use PMS 7587 C samples for brand approval before a large project?

For PMS 7587 C, it is best practice to order a small paint sample and evaluate it on your actual substrate and under the intended lighting conditions. This step is important for confirming brand color appearance before committing to a full production run or installation. Brand approval workflows usually require stakeholders to review the sample as applied so that adjustments can be made if needed, reducing the risk of costly rework on branded projects.

Are there challenges in matching PMS 7587 C accurately across materials?

PMS 7587 C, like many Pantone colors, can look different depending on the surface, paint formulation, and finish. Matching this color well requires specialized expertise since small shifts in finish or texture may influence the perceived result. MyPerfectColor focuses on accurate PMS 7587 C reproduction for branding, displays, and marketing projects, but absolute visual alignment across all materials and lighting is not always possible due to inherent differences between coatings and substrates.

Is PMS 7587 C paint intended for touch-up applications on existing parts?

PMS 7587 C paint is formulated for brand consistency in new applications, displays, and prototypes. If you require touch-up-grade color match for an existing part, sending a physical sample is recommended instead of selecting by Pantone code. This approach ensures the highest possible alignment with the original part and avoids risks related to batch or finish differences when only the code is used.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7587 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 7587 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 7587 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
