PMS 7549 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (Pantone PMS) collection. This color is best described as assertive, graphic, energetic, high-contrast, and specification-driven. The color's primary impression is its strong yellow hue, creating a commanding presence in any visual identity system or display setting. It is commonly selected where clear visibility, targeted branding, and rapid visual identification are essential requirements.
PMS 7549 C appears as a medium-bright yellow, neither pastel nor deep. The color demonstrates a warm undertone with a distinctly yellow base, leaning neither toward green nor orange. PMS 7549 C is described as highly saturated with no perceptible dullness, leading to maximum chromatic impact. The visual character is vivid and direct, with no significant nuance or shading. With an LRV of 54.31, the color presents as moderately light but not pale; it is sufficiently bright for legibility and standout applications. This color can be sensitive to finish: gloss increases brilliance and saturation, while matte may slightly mute the perceived intensity.
PMS 7549 C is often specified for branding signage, retail display fixtures, and exhibit graphics requiring immediate visual attention. The color is frequently used in event activations and marketing installations where a graphics-driven yellow is part of the palette.
PMS 7549 C is most effective in environments where visibility and rapid recognition are important, such as branded spaces, displays, and marketing materials. Accurate color matching requires evaluating both paint and physical Pantone references under the intended lighting and finish, as sheens can strongly influence appearance. Saturated yellows such as PMS 7549 C may require additional coats to achieve uniform coverage, especially over contrasting substrates. Color perception may shift under different lighting types, so finalize evaluations using both a Pantone reference and a painted drawdown in actual project conditions.

To ensure you receive the intended color target, always use the exact Pantone code, including suffixes such as 'C' for coated (for example, PMS 7549 C). Pantone color names alone are not unique and may reference different series or finishes. Supplying the full code avoids confusion and helps vendors match the correct standard for Pantone PMS 7549 C. Review your brand or project specification sheet to confirm the code and finish before ordering.
Pantone PMS 7549 C is a highly saturated yellow that benefits from multiple thin coats during application. Apply several light coats of spray paint, allowing enough time between coats for the previous layer to set. This approach helps achieve uniform color and reduces runs or unevenness, which is especially important for vibrant colors like PMS 7549 C. Heavy coats may lead to poor coverage or gloss variations, so work gradually for the intended result.
The appearance of PMS 7549 C may change depending on surface properties such as absorption, texture, and reflectivity. Materials like plastic, metal, and wood can reflect light differently or absorb paint at varying rates, affecting the visible color. For brand-sensitive projects, always evaluate PMS 7549 C on a sample of the final substrate under project lighting conditions. This helps ensure the painted color aligns with your Pantone reference and meets project expectations.
The SDS for products matched to PMS 7549 C is based on the paint type or formulation, not the color itself. To locate the SDS, check the SDS or safety section associated with the specific product format you are ordering, such as spray paint or brush-in-cap. If you need an SDS before finalizing your selection, consult the product documentation or SDS library for the chosen paint type. The Pantone code does not affect the underlying safety documentation.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
