PMS 2345 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (PMS) collection, a standardized system for specifying colors across different forms of production. This color conveys an energetic, assertive, vibrant, and modern vibe, with a distinctly chromatic visual presence. PMS 2345 C is used in environments where bold, brand-consistent color is operationally required, especially in marketing, exhibit, and prototype contexts demanding reliable, repeatable color standards.

PMS 2345 C presents as a strongly saturated magenta-red. The color shows moderate darkness, with a light reflectance value (LRV) of 33.24. PMS 2345 C has a warm undertone, linked to its position in the red-magenta hue range. The color’s chroma is notably high, resulting in a vivid, impactful appearance. PMS 2345 C can be sensitive to finish selection; gloss levels may intensify brightness and saturation, while flat finishes can suppress vibrancy.

PMS 2345 C works well where a bold, recognizable brand color is operationally necessary, such as in retail displays, promotional activations, exhibit components, and prototypes. Under varied lighting, this saturated color can shift in perceived hue and brightness; evaluation in the intended light environment is recommended. Highly chromatic pigments like this may require multiple coats to achieve uniform coverage, and the selected finish can noticeably affect visual impact when compared to standard Pantone guides. It is advisable to assess both a physical PMS swatch and a paint sample to verify appearance for critical branding work.

Similar colors:
PMS 2336 C — Slightly lighter and marginally less saturated, providing a softer magenta-red effect.

PMS 234 C — Darker and somewhat cooler, leaning more toward a deep magenta appearance.

PMS 227 C — Significantly darker, with a more muted, subdued magenta undertone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2345 C

What should I expect when ordering Pantone PMS 2345 C paint? Is an exact color match guaranteed?

Pantone PMS 2345 C is a strongly saturated magenta-red, and colors like this can be challenging to reproduce exactly across different applications. MyPerfectColor specializes in matching Pantone standards as closely as possible, but several factors can impact how closely your painted surface will visually align with a PMS 2345 C swatch. These factors include the finish (gloss levels), the underlying material, and the lighting in which the color will be viewed. For critical brand scenarios, it is best to preview a physical paint sample next to your Pantone guide under the intended lighting before committing to a full project. If your application requires a formal color approval, ordering a sample for evaluation is recommended.

How much area does one spray can of PMS 2345 C paint cover, and how should I estimate the amount needed?

Coverage for a single spray can of PMS 2345 C typically ranges from about 20 to 25 square feet per can, assuming a smooth, non-porous surface and one light coat. Since PMS 2345 C is a highly saturated magenta-red, multiple thin coats are often needed for full, even color and ideal appearance. Surface texture, application style, color contrast between the substrate and paint, and desired finish may all affect how much paint you need. It is a good practice to estimate for extra coverage, especially on large or high-visibility projects where consistent brand color is required.

Will Pantone PMS 2345 C look the same on all materials and surfaces?

Pantone PMS 2345 C may appear different depending on the substrate you are painting. Factors such as surface texture, porosity, absorption, and reflectivity can all influence how the color is perceived once applied. For example, a glossy metal panel and a matte plastic part painted with the same formula of PMS 2345 C may appear to have slight color or brightness differences. For projects involving multiple materials, it is best to test PMS 2345 C on your actual components and view them under the intended lighting conditions to verify visual consistency before final production.

What is the recommended way to apply PMS 2345 C spray paint for brand-consistent results?

For the most consistent and vivid appearance of PMS 2345 C, apply the spray paint in several light, even coats rather than a single heavy coat. Allow each coat to dry or 'flash off' before applying the next one, as this builds color uniformity and reduces issues such as streaking or uneven sheen. Highly chromatic colors like PMS 2345 C often need extra attention to technique, with thin coats helping ensure the brand color looks correct on display or marketing projects.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 2345 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
