Pantone® PMS 2285 C . Paint And Spray Paint. MyPerfectColor is the official licensee of Pantone and authorized to reproduce the Pantone Matching System colors in spray paint and other paints.

PMS 2285 C is part of the Pantone PMS collection, a standardized system for color specification in branding, displays, and industrial design. This color presents a vibrant, fresh, and clean green tone with a distinctly cool character and moderate lightness, producing a vivid and dynamic visual effect. Its technical presence and energetic appearance align with design language suited to innovative spaces, exhibition settings, and forward-focused consumer brands.

- PMS 2285 C exhibits a moderately light value, with an LRV of 56.82.
- The color has a cool green orientation, with a hue angle near 126 degrees.
- This color appears highly saturated, contributing to a vivid, eye-catching effect.
- The undertone is distinctly cool, showing minimal yellow or warmth.
- Application finish can noticeably affect perceived depth and intensity, especially with glossy or matte options.

PMS 2285 C functions well where visual freshness and brand energy are required, such as in marketing displays, event environments, and prototype branding. Evaluate the color’s appearance carefully under intended lighting conditions, as cool greens can shift subtly in different environments. Maintaining uniformity across substrates is important, and highly saturated paint may require multiple coats for proper coverage. In side-by-side applications, PMS 2285 C tends to appear cooler and cleaner compared to standard greens, which may influence how it coordinates with other color elements.

Similar colors:

  • PMS 2274 C — Lighter and slightly more pastel, offering a softer presence than PMS 2285 C.
  • PMS 2411 C — Darker and with greater blue influence, resulting in a deeper, teal-like effect.
  • PMS 354 C — Warmer and more yellow-leaning, producing a livelier but less cool green.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2285 C

How does surface texture affect the appearance of Pantone PMS 2285 C paint in real-world applications?

The texture of the surface painted with Pantone PMS 2285 C can significantly alter how this color is perceived. Smooth or glossy finishes reflect more light, making PMS 2285 C look brighter and possibly more saturated, while matte or textured finishes can diffuse light and create subtle shadowing, making the color appear softer, darker, or less saturated. For brand displays and marketing environments, consider how the chosen texture may shift the intended brightness or vibrancy of PMS 2285 C, and evaluate samples on your actual substrate under typical lighting conditions before committing to large-scale application.

What should I consider when choosing an interior or exterior paint type for Pantone PMS 2285 C?

When ordering Pantone PMS 2285 C for a project, select the paint type based on whether the surface will be used indoors or outdoors and its expected exposure. For indoor branding elements, displays, and exhibit components, interior paint will generally provide the needed appearance and performance. For outdoor installations, signage, or event structures exposed to weather or sunlight, choose an exterior-grade paint to ensure better durability and color retention. Confirm your application needs before ordering to prevent performance issues or early color fading.

What steps should I take to ensure Pantone PMS 2285 C looks right in pop-up or retail environments?

For pop-ups or retail environments where Pantone PMS 2285 C is part of the brand experience, it is important to assess both durability and visual accuracy. Test a sample of PMS 2285 C on the actual substrate and finish under the intended lighting before rolling out a full installation. This helps identify any shifts in perceived color or finish and ensures that brand standards are met. Highly saturated colors like PMS 2285 C may also require more coats for even coverage, so allow time for sampling and adjustments as needed.

Where can I find the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for paint in Pantone PMS 2285 C?

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for Pantone PMS 2285 C paint is determined by the specific paint product or coating type you order, not by the color code. After selecting the desired paint format for PMS 2285 C, visit the SDS library or resources page for the product you choose. If you are unsure which SDS applies to your order, contact customer support with your selected product type for assistance.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 2285 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How much area will one spray can cover? And what is Pantone PMS 2285 C spray paint made of?

How do I convert PMS 2285 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2285 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
