PMS 2150 C is part of the Pantone PMS collection, designed for consistent color communication in branding, marketing, and industrial design contexts. The color conveys a grounded, technical, and substantial vibe with understated vibrancy and a distinctly cool, muted undertone. Typical associations include professional, reliable, and reserved visual messaging, often applied where brand consistency is critical.

PMS 2150 C exhibits a dark appearance, with a low LRV of 15.71.

The color leans cool due to its dominant purple hue and blue undertones.

PMS 2150 C maintains moderate chroma, resulting in a saturated but deliberately muted presence.

This color has subtle cool undertones, which are accentuated under neutral or cool lighting.

The appearance of PMS 2150 C is highly sensitive to finish, with higher sheens increasing perceived richness and lower sheens creating a more muted effect.

PMS 2150 C functions well in applications requiring strong, stable color presence without overwhelming vibrancy. It is suitable for signage, display panels, brand environments, and fabricated components where controlled, consistent color delivery is essential. Designers should evaluate surface preparation and finish selection carefully, as this color can appear deeper or more vibrant depending on gloss and ambient lighting. PMS 2150 C tends to be less reflective, supporting legibility and presence compared to lighter or more saturated purples; confirm appearance with a physical sample in intended conditions prior to deployment.

Similar colors:

  • PMS 2096 C—darker and more saturated, providing a bolder visual impact.
  • PMS 7672 C—warmer and with more red undertone, giving a noticeably different purple cast.
  • PMS 7662 C—lighter and less chromatic, for applications requiring a more subdued purple.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2150 C

How is PMS 2150 C used in signage, display, or exhibit fabrication projects?

PMS 2150 C is frequently specified as a brand standard for signs, displays, and exhibit components to ensure consistent color across vendors and materials. Ordering paint matched to PMS 2150 C allows fabricators to meet marketing or design requirements for color accuracy. Since finish and substrate can alter the appearance, it is best practice to sample PMS 2150 C on the actual material and sheen before full production, particularly for highly visible or approved brand environments.

What are the basic steps to order PMS 2150 C paint on MyPerfectColor?

To order paint matched to PMS 2150 C, first select the paint type that fits your project, such as spray paint, paint pens, or another available format. Then choose the desired sheen, quantity, and any size or application options required. Before submitting your order, confirm that PMS 2150 C is the correct Pantone code specified in your project brief or brand standard, as this code determines the color formula used for your product.

What should I expect when it comes to the durability of PMS 2150 C spray paint?

The durability of PMS 2150 C spray paint depends on surface preparation, the type of paint and topcoat you choose, and the environment where it will be used. For best results, ensure surfaces are clean and properly prepared, and select the spray product based on whether the application will be indoors, outdoors, or exposed to heavy use. Adding a compatible clear topcoat can improve durability and help protect the color from wear or fading.

What do I need to consider when applying PMS 2150 C paint to metal or powder-coated parts?

When applying PMS 2150 C to metal or powder-coated components, surface preparation is critical. Scuff and clean the part to promote paint adhesion and ensure that any existing coatings or gloss are properly prepared. The final color and appearance may be affected by the underlying substrate and the chosen sheen, so sampling PMS 2150 C on the actual part in intended lighting and finish is recommended before full production.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2150 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2150 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2150 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 2150 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2150 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
