PMS 2123 C from the Pantone PMS collection is a vibrant, noticeably saturated blue-violet that provides high-impact color for branding, marketing, and industrial design. The color gives off a modern, energetic, and assertive vibe with distinctly cool undertones and a medium-dark appearance.

PMS 2123 C appears as a medium-dark color, with moderate light reflectivity (LRV: 30.17). The color is cool-leaning with a distinctly blue-violet hue. PMS 2123 C shows high chroma and appears vivid and saturated under most lighting conditions. The color includes blue undertones, resulting in a crisp, clean impression. PMS 2123 C can be finish-sensitive; gloss levels and surface textures may affect the perceived vibrancy.

PMS 2123 C is often specified for branding environments, feature displays, and marketing installations where vivid recognition is required. The color is regularly used in prototypes and design mock-ups for new brand launches or product concept visualizations. PMS 2123 C may be seen in event signage and experiential design, where precise and memorable color impact is crucial.

PMS 2123 C is selected for projects demanding a bold, memorable blue-violet with strong visual separation from both neutral and more conventional blues. For best results, evaluate this color in both daylight and project-intended lighting, as perceived saturation and undertone can shift. PMS 2123 C can appear even more saturated in gloss finishes, while matte surfaces may render it slightly softer. Ensure surface preparation minimizes color variation and test application on actual materials to check for uniformity and adequate coverage, especially given its high chroma.

PMS 2172 C – Cooler and more chromatic, with a sharper bluish emphasis.

PMS 2132 C – Slightly darker and deeper, showing increased intensity and a richer visual weight.

PMS 2387 C – More neutral and less chromatic, producing a less vibrant, more restrained presence.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2123 C

What should I expect for durability if I use PMS 2123 C spray paint for a brand display?

The durability of Pantone PMS 2123 C spray paint depends on your substrate, surface preparation, environmental exposure, and choice of topcoat or clear finish. For indoor branding and marketing displays, standard spray paint typically provides sufficient durability if surfaces are clean, smooth, and primed as needed. For high-contact or outdoor environments, consider a compatible protective clear topcoat for additional resistance. Always select your spray paint type based on how much exposure, handling, and wear your finished project will face.

How do I find the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for PMS 2123 C paint products?

The Safety Data Sheet for PMS 2123 C paint is linked to the specific paint product type, not the Pantone color code itself. To access the correct SDS, select the paint format you are using, such as spray paint, paint pen, or house paint, and review the SDS for that product in the SDS library or product listing. Confirm you are referencing the SDS for your chosen material and application method.

When ordering PMS 2123 C paint, how important is it to include the exact Pantone suffix or series?

It is important to specify the full Pantone code, including any suffix or series, when ordering PMS 2123 C paint. Suffixes like 'C' for coated or 'U' for uncoated refer to the target color standard and can affect the intended visual match. Always check your brand guidelines or specification documents to confirm the correct Pantone PMS code for your application. Requesting the exact reference helps ensure accurate, brand-consistent color results.

Do I need a special undercoat or extra coats when using PMS 2123 C for visual brand projects?

PMS 2123 C is a saturated blue-violet that may require more coats than less intense colors for full and uniform hide, especially over contrasting surfaces. Planning for two or more coats improves coverage and consistency. Using an appropriate undercoat, such as a white or tinted primer, can help achieve the intended vibrancy and hide. Testing on your actual materials before final application is recommended to confirm results and adjust your approach if needed.

Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2123 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 2123 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2123 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
