PMS 2010 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, primarily specified in professional branding, display fabrication, and industrial design. This color presents an energetic, bold, and contemporary vibe with a perceptible brightness. It stands out as a saturated orange with noticeable vibrancy and a warm, assertive presence that is visually arresting in brand and marketing applications.

PMS 2010 C registers as medium-light based on its LRV of 51.15. The color displays a distinctly warm visual temperature. PMS 2010 C is highly saturated and vivid, showing strong chroma. The underlying undertone is a direct, clean orange without muted or brownish traits. The finish can significantly influence perceived vibrancy, with matte reducing and gloss heightening its brightness.

PMS 2010 C works well in branded environments and high-visibility marketing assets where a dynamic, energetic look is desired. Strong illumination emphasizes its boldness but may also accentuate minor inconsistencies in surface prep or application, especially in high-gloss finishes. Compared to oranges with more muted or brownish undertones, PMS 2010 C remains cleaner and more saturated. Its appearance may shift slightly in low light or under cooler color temperatures, appearing less vivid.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2010 C

What safety or VOC considerations should I expect when using paint products matched to Pantone PMS 2010 C?

When working with paints matched to Pantone PMS 2010 C, safety requirements and VOC content will depend on the specific paint type and format you select. For any product, always review the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use, follow personal protective equipment recommendations, and ensure proper ventilation during application. Never assume all Pantone-matched coatings share the same handling or environmental requirements. Refer to the supplied documentation for the product you plan to use.

What should I consider when applying PMS 2010 C paint to plastics or low-energy surfaces?

When painting plastics or low-energy materials with PMS 2010 C, be aware that different plastics vary in their ability to hold paint. Most plastics require a compatible primer or special surface preparation to achieve good adhesion. Always test the selected PMS 2010 C paint system on the specific plastic or surface before starting production, as performance can vary widely. This approach helps prevent issues with adhesion and ensures the final result meets brand expectations.

How important is it to specify the correct code and suffix when ordering Pantone PMS 2010 C paint?

It is essential to confirm the exact color code and suffix for Pantone PMS 2010 C before ordering. Pantone PMS codes can include suffixes like C, U, or M, which refer to different reference substrates and can affect the intended color result. Check your brand standards or project documentation to ensure you are requesting the correct reference, as using the wrong code or suffix may lead to a color mismatch in branding or display applications.

Will PMS 2010 C require special undercoats or extra coats to achieve full coverage?

PMS 2010 C is a vivid, highly saturated orange, which means it may have lower hide than less intense colors. For best results and a uniform appearance, plan for additional coats and consider using a suitable undercoat or primer, especially when painting over darker or uneven surfaces. Matching the primer color to the final finish can help achieve consistent, brand-accurate coverage for PMS 2010 C in marketing and display environments.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2010 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2010 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2010 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 2010 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2010 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
