Pantone™ PMS 7516 C

To achieve consistent results with PMS 7516 C on repeat orders, always specify the same product type, sheen, and finish as your original order. Use the same Pantone standard or approved reference sample as your color target. Any change in product base, gloss level, or substrate can lead to visible differences due to how the deep brown color interacts with light and texture. For critical brand projects, consider retaining a control sample from the first run to compare against future batches before full-scale application.

Before applying PMS 7516 C paint, start by cleaning the substrate to remove dust, grease, and residues. Degrease glossy or previously coated surfaces if needed. Lightly scuff glossy or smooth areas to help the paint adhere, taking care not to expose irregular substrate colors that could bleed through this deep brown. Priming with a uniform base color is recommended, especially for high-contrast surfaces. Test a small spot with PMS 7516 C to confirm coverage and appearance before full scale application. Proper prep helps achieve a consistent, brand-true finish on all materials.

Surface texture can noticeably affect how PMS 7516 C is perceived. On smoother or glossy finishes, the color may look deeper and richer due to greater light reflectance and intensified saturation. Matte and textured surfaces, on the other hand, can diffuse light and soften the appearance, making the same PMS 7516 C sample appear lighter or less intense. Always test the color on the same texture and finish planned for your project to ensure it meets brand expectations in the final context.

PMS 7516 C paint is made to order to achieve brand-standard color accuracy. Production lead time depends on the specific paint format (such as spray paint, paint pens, or housepaint) and current production volume. Allow several business days for production, plus shipping time. If your project has tight deadlines for display, branding, or installation, plan your order in advance and factor in additional time for sampling or approval if needed.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7516 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
