PMS 7498 C is defined within the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection and is recognized for its reserved, earthy, and professional character. Its vibe is grounded, subdued, technical, and organic, which makes it effective for conveying stability and a connection to nature in branded environments.
PMS 7498 C exhibits a notably dark appearance, with a low reflectance value (LRV) of 8.5 indicating strong absorption of light. The color leans distinctly cool, with a marked green hue moderated by subtle, muted undertones. PMS 7498 C has medium chroma, resulting in a color that reads as rich but not overly vivid or saturated. The undertone is a comparatively neutral green, lacking yellow-or-blue dominance, increasing its versatility within brand standards. The appearance of PMS 7498 C can shift significantly depending on lighting conditions; finish selection (matte vs. gloss) may heighten or suppress its perceived depth and richness.
PMS 7498 C works well in applications demanding a sophisticated or natural green that avoids both brightness and dullness. It is especially effective in environments where a deep, understated green is required to communicate trust, environment, or professionalism. Due to its low light reflectance, it can appear almost black in dim lighting or on large surfaces, so color sampling under final lighting conditions is essential. Edge coverage and hide should be checked, as darker, more saturated greens can require additional coats for full opacity. Compared to similar deep greens, PMS 7498 C typically appears less blue and stays more neutral, making it reliable for projects needing a balanced, less-biased green.
Similar colors:
PMS 5535 C – Similar depth but appears noticeably cooler and more bluish.
PMS 350 C – Lighter and slightly more chromatic, showing a more prominent emerald quality.
PMS 3308 C – Darker and more saturated, with a deeper teal-green character.

Safety and VOC guidance for PMS 7498 C matched paint depends on the specific product and format you select, such as spray paint, paint pens, or epoxy. Always consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for your chosen paint type before use to review handling, ventilation, and protective gear requirements. Follow all safe use practices, including proper ventilation and avoiding skin and eye contact, to help ensure the workspace and those using the product are protected.
A standard Pantone PMS match for PMS 7498 C is appropriate when your project needs to meet brand standards for marketing, signage, displays, or prototypes. If your primary goal is visual alignment with the Pantone PMS 7498 C reference, as specified in branding or graphic guidelines, choosing the standard match helps ensure consistency across vendors and materials. This approach is best for exhibits, branded environments, and one-off fabrication where the Pantone number is the direct specification.
When comparing samples of PMS 7498 C for approval, review all samples side by side under the same lighting conditions and on the same substrate. Make sure all paint is fully dry or cured before judgment, since coating appearance and color can change as it dries. Using a true physical Pantone standard for direct comparison also reduces misinterpretation and helps confirm that the match meets brand expectations before installation or production continues.
Paint matched to PMS 7498 C is custom made to order, so it is important to review your product type, sheen, and application needs carefully before finalizing the order. Changes or returns are difficult because custom-mixed products cannot be easily revised after they are made. If you are unsure about a finish or need to check appearance on your material, ordering a small sample first is recommended to avoid issues with brand color acceptance and to reduce costly revisions.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
