Pantone® PMS 7496 C. Paint And Spray Paint. MyPerfectColor is the official licensee of Pantone and authorized to reproduce the Pantone Matching System colors in spray paint and other paints.

PMS 7496 C is a standard color from the Pantone Matching System (Pantone PMS). This color is characterized by an earthy, natural, and subdued green appearance, with an overall vibe that is serious, foundational, steady, and visually organic. Its visual profile is especially noted for being both grounded and technical, commonly considered for use where a linked-to-nature, stable presence is needed in branding environments.

PMS 7496 C appears dark to moderately dark, with an LRV of 18.42.

The color has a slight cool tendency, influenced by its green base leaning to the yellow side of green.

PMS 7496 C is moderately saturated, providing strong color presence without appearing vibrant or oversaturated.

This color presents an olive-toned, muted undertone, which contributes to its naturalistic and grounded look.

Finish can notably influence the way PMS 7496 C is perceived, with higher gloss levels slightly increasing the appearance of depth and richness.

PMS 7496 C works effectively in brand environments, displays, and signage where a strong, stable green is needed but without excessive brightness. The moderate darkness means it provides visual weight in layouts and spatial design, while the olive undertone helps it harmonize with wood, metal, or other neutral materials. Care should be taken with lighting, as warm light may amplify the olive undertones, potentially making the color appear more muted than in daylight. This color tends to conceal marks and minor surface inconsistencies better than more chromatic or lighter greens. For larger surfaces or when coverage is critical, ensure even application to avoid uneven appearance, especially in low-gloss finishes.

Similar colors:

  • PMS 7744 C – Slightly darker and deeper with a less yellow undertone, resulting in a more forest-like effect.
  • PMS 370 C – More muted and with a duller, less saturated appearance, making it feel earthier and less prominent.
  • PMS 7495 C – Lighter and warmer, with more pronounced yellowish tones.
  • PMS 5535 C – Much darker and cooler, leaning more toward a pine green profile.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7496 C

How can I ensure consistent results when reordering PMS 7496 C paint for future brand applications?

To keep PMS 7496 C results visually consistent across multiple orders, use the same paint product type and sheen for each project or reorder. Always specify PMS 7496 C by code as your color reference, and if your team uses a specific Pantone guide or approval target, continue using that same standard for each order. Differences in product, sheen, or reference can affect how the color appears, especially in branded environments where color matching is critical.

Is matte or gloss a better finish choice for PMS 7496 C in branding and display projects?

The finish you choose for PMS 7496 C directly affects its appearance in branded displays. Gloss finishes boost depth and make the color look more saturated, but may create glare under lighting or in large areas. Matte finishes reduce reflections and help the color look more even, especially when viewed up close, but may slightly mute the green and make it appear less intense. Consider the lighting, viewing distance, and whether a non-glare or high impact look is required for your specific application.

What is the best way to use PMS 7496 C for prototypes or concept models where brand color accuracy matters?

For prototypes and concept models using PMS 7496 C, select a paint format that matches your material and how you need to evaluate the finished look. Spray paint is often chosen for ease and uniform color, but brush-in-cap bottles or paint pens may work for smaller areas. Always compare the painted surface against your PMS 7496 C reference under your intended lighting. Early evaluation and approval help catch differences before final production, supporting accurate visual brand alignment in your project.

How do I achieve a uniform look when applying PMS 7496 C over large areas for brand displays?

To get even color with PMS 7496 C across big surfaces, use consistent application techniques and plan your coats. Apply the paint in controlled, even passes and allow proper drying time between coats. Extra attention is needed with low-gloss or matte finishes, as uneven coverage can stand out more. Checking the work under your display lighting before approval can help ensure you achieve a reliable, professional appearance for branded environments.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 7496 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
