PMS 7465 C is part of the Pantone PMS collection, a standardized color system used for consistent reproduction in branding, marketing, and industrial design. Visually, this color presents as a striking, clean, and contemporary teal blue with assertive chroma and a distinctly cool cast. It conveys a sense of vibrancy and precision, supporting bold visual communication in fabricated displays and environmental branding.

PMS 7465 C exhibits a mid-range lightness (LRV 42.19), giving it noticeable presence without being either pale or excessively deep. The color demonstrates a cool tendency, with a blue-green character that leans more toward blue than green. It is highly saturated, creating a vivid and energetic appearance in both paint and print applications. The undertone is clear and modern, with minimal muddiness or visible grayness. PMS 7465 C may show perceptible shifts depending on gloss level and lighting; higher gloss finishes can amplify its saturation, while matte surfaces may temper its vibrance.

PMS 7465 C performs best in environments where color consistency and modern visual energy are priorities, such as branded installations, marketing displays, or prototype components. The color’s high chroma can appear slightly lighter or more intense under direct lighting or in high-gloss finishes. When specifying or applying this color across multiple substrates, it is advisable to sample both the finish and lighting to ensure alignment with the intended brand representation. Compared to other similar teals, PMS 7465 C is less muted and more distinctly blue, resulting in a crisper, more contemporary presentation.

PMS 7466 C — Lighter and more turquoise, with a higher level of brightness and a fresher impression.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7465 C

What should I expect in terms of durability when using PMS 7465 C as spray paint for brand displays?

The durability of PMS 7465 C spray paint depends on thorough substrate preparation, the type of paint selected (such as urethane or epoxy), and environmental exposure. For interior displays and short-term uses, standard spray paint may be sufficient. For exterior or high-wear environments, use a product with enhanced durability and consider a clear protective topcoat. Always confirm that the chosen spray paint is appropriate for the intended location, and follow manufacturer recommendations for surface prep, priming, and curing to maintain color integrity and brand consistency.

How do I choose between matte and gloss for Pantone PMS 7465 C in a brand application?

Choosing between matte and gloss for PMS 7465 C affects both visual impact and usability. Gloss finishes deliver higher saturation and make colors appear more vivid and energetic, but can introduce glare under direct lighting. Matte finishes reduce glare and reflections, which may be ideal for large displays or close viewing. The viewing distance, how the lighting will interact with the surface, and desired emphasis on color intensity should guide your finish selection. Sampling finishes in the actual lighting environment is recommended to verify brand consistency and intended effect.

Why is it important to confirm the exact code and suffix when ordering PMS 7465 C paint?

The Pantone code PMS 7465 C includes a suffix ('C') that specifies the reference series, which is important for accurate brand color reproduction. Different suffixes like 'C', 'U', or 'M' can represent color variations based on the material or printing process. Before ordering PMS 7465 C, verify the exact code from your brand standards or documentation to ensure you receive the correct color match for your intended brand and application. This helps avoid unexpected differences and maintains consistent visual identity.

Where can I find the safety data sheet (SDS) for paint made in Pantone PMS 7465 C?

The safety data sheet (SDS) for Pantone PMS 7465 C paint is specific to the type of paint product you select, not the color itself. To locate the SDS, visit the SDS library for MyPerfectColor and choose the appropriate product type (such as spray paint, epoxy, or urethane). Review the SDS before ordering or using the product to ensure compliance with handling and safety requirements for your project environment.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 7465 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
