PMS 7464 C belongs to the Pantone PMS collection, which is widely used for brand identity and marketing specification. The color reads as clean, fresh, approachable, and technical, with a visually quiet and versatile appearance appropriate for a range of display environments. Its medium-light presence and desaturated blue-green character support neutral brand palettes and projects where a restrained, non-intrusive style is appropriate.

PMS 7464 C presents as a light to medium-light color, with a numeric LRV of 60.3.

The color tends toward the cool range, with a noticeable blue-green undertone.

Saturation is moderate; it is less intense than vivid cerulean or teal, contributing to a more muted, sophisticated impression.

The undertone is distinctly aquatic, with subtle hints of green beneath a soft blue appearance.

This color can appear cooler or more subdued in matte finishes and may gain slight gloss-enhanced vibrancy in higher sheens.

PMS 7464 C is minimally reactive to typical lighting variations, but may appear cooler under daylight-balanced sources.

PMS 7464 C is effective in contemporary, brand-focused applications where a calm, clean, and reliably consistent color is needed across multiple substrates. Its moderate lightness avoids visual heaviness, while the low-saturation blue-green profile supports wayfinding, branded displays, and retail environments that prioritize psychological comfort. In application, ensure substrate is uniformly prepared and finish is specified, as sheen will affect the perceived softness or brightness. Relative to deeper or more saturated teal colors, PMS 7464 C will feel lighter and less assertive, helping adjacent accent hues or brand marks to stand out without conflicting.

Similar colors:

  • PMS 628 C: Lighter and subtly more blue, adding a slightly airier and more pastel effect.
  • PMS 631 C: Slightly deeper and more saturated, with a bolder and more vivid turquoise cast.
  • PMS 7471 C: Cooler and lighter, with a sky-blue tendency and less green content.
  • PMS 550 C: Considerably more muted and grayish, with a more subdued and less distinct hue.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7464 C

Why does licensed reproduction matter when ordering PMS 7464 C paint?

PMS 7464 C is a Pantone PMS color code, which serves as a global color communication standard for brand identity and marketing. MyPerfectColor is authorized to reproduce Pantone PMS colors, including PMS 7464 C, as accurate paint solutions. Using a licensed supplier ensures that the color is formulated to meet Pantone standards for visual consistency, which is important for branding and display applications where color accuracy is critical.

How do I order paint matched to Pantone PMS 7464 C on MyPerfectColor?

To order PMS 7464 C paint, start by choosing the product format you need, such as spray paint, paint pens, or brush-in-cap bottles. Next, select the sheen that fits your project, keeping in mind that finish can affect perceived color. Enter the quantity required and review any options for your specific use. Confirm all details before placing your order to ensure the paint matches your intended brand or display application.

What matching challenges should I expect when choosing PMS 7464 C paint?

PMS 7464 C is a moderately saturated blue-green and like all Pantone PMS colors, matching it across different materials and finishes can be challenging. The appearance may shift depending on sheen, substrate, and lighting, and coverage can be affected by the lightness and chroma of the color. MyPerfectColor specializes in reproducing PMS 7464 C for brand and marketing use, but it is important to specify finish and substrate to achieve the closest visual alignment with your brand standards.

When should I use a primer with PMS 7464 C paint?

The need for primer with PMS 7464 C paint depends on your substrate and the paint format selected. Primers are especially recommended for uncoated, porous, or difficult surfaces, and when transitioning from a dark to a light color. Using a primer helps improve adhesion and appearance, especially important for brand-focused applications. Review the substrate and exposure conditions as part of your project planning to decide if a primer is needed for best results.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 7464 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
