Pantone™ PMS 7458 C

PMS 7458 C is specified as a brand-standard color in many fabrication projects where visual alignment and consistency are critical. Using a paint matched to PMS 7458 C helps ensure that signage, displays, or exhibit components meet brand requirements and create a unified brand experience across different materials and elements. Because factors like finish and substrate can influence the appearance, it is best practice to sample PMS 7458 C on the actual substrate to confirm color acceptance before full production.

To maintain consistent color when applying PMS 7458 C on large areas, plan for even application in multiple thin coats rather than fewer thick coats. For best results, apply each coat in a consistent direction, overlap passes slightly, and allow proper drying time between coats. Consider the surface texture and be aware that vibrant Pantone colors may require extra coats to achieve full coverage, which helps prevent patchiness or visible streaks.

PMS 7458 C is a Pantone brand standard, and there is rarely an exact match in other paint company collections. Most paint brands have their own unique palettes, and cross-references are typically only approximate, especially for rich or vivid colors like PMS 7458 C. Always specify PMS 7458 C directly when branding accuracy is required, and avoid relying on so-called equivalents which may not deliver the correct look for your project.

Coverage for a spray can of PMS 7458 C generally ranges from about 20 to 25 square feet per can, depending on the substrate and application method. Textured surfaces, high absorbency, or the need for multiple coats (common with blue and other full-strength colors) will reduce actual coverage. To estimate, calculate the total square footage of your project and plan for extra cans if you expect to apply more than two coats or are working with rough surfaces. When in doubt, ordering a sample can allows you to confirm both adhesion and actual coverage before finalizing quantities.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
