PMS 7457 C
PMS 7457 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (Pantone PMS) collection. The color is most often characterized as light, airy, clean, and understated with a technical, cool, and modern vibe. It presents as a pale blue with a crisp, subdued appearance that remains consistent under a variety of lighting conditions.
PMS 7457 C has a high light reflectance value (LRV 72.07), so it reads as a distinctly light color. The color exhibits a cool tendency, displaying blue with a slight leaning toward neutrality rather than strong cyan. PMS 7457 C shows low to moderate saturation, resulting in a soft, muted chromatic effect rather than a vibrant blue. The undertone is cool and controlled, lacking green or violet influences. The appearance of this color can become less pronounced in high-gloss finishes, where surface reflections may reduce the subtlety of the hue.
PMS 7457 C is used where a delicate, cool blue is required for visual identity environments, product prototypes, or display components. It works well in situations demanding a neutral, modern light blue that does not overpower accompanying colors or brand elements. Lighting conditions and finish selection can affect its perceived cleanliness; matte and eggshell finishes emphasize its subtlety, while gloss may add some reflectivity. Against white, the blue will be more apparent; against darker or more vivid colors, it can appear almost neutral. As a very light blue, coverage is generally good, but substrate color should be considered to avoid unintended undertones.

Pantone PMS 7457 C is often specified for prototypes and concept models when accurate representation of brand colors is critical. Using the Pantone PMS code allows all parties to reference the same visual target, reducing miscommunication in product development and marketing. When building a prototype, select a paint format such as spray paint or brush-in-cap bottle for testing on your actual substrate. Always evaluate PMS 7457 C under the lighting and finish conditions that will be present in the final environment. This process helps verify that the color visually aligns with brand expectations before committing to larger production or public display.
Choosing between matte and gloss for PMS 7457 C affects the final appearance and brand impact. Matte finishes emphasize the color's subtle, soft blue qualities and minimize glare, which is ideal for controlled lighting or close-up viewing. Gloss finishes can increase brightness and visual punch, but may reduce the color's subtlety due to reflections and surface shine, especially under strong lighting. For displays intended to be seen from a distance or in low-light areas, gloss may help the color stand out. For prototypes, model details, and environments where accurate perception of the brand color matters, matte or eggshell finishes are usually preferred. Consider how lighting, viewing angle, and surrounding colors will influence the look before deciding.
Pantone PMS 7457 C is a standardized color reference used for brand consistency across materials and vendors. Ordering from an authorized Pantone reproduction source ensures the paint is produced to match the Pantone target as closely as possible using professional color-matching systems. This reduces discrepancies that can arise if non-standard mixes are used and helps maintain visual brand alignment in prototypes, displays, and other applications. Always verify that your supplier is licensed to reproduce Pantone PMS standards to avoid unexpected color variations.
For PMS 7457 C, it is best to order a small sample in your intended paint format and finish before full-scale production. Apply the sample to the correct substrate and evaluate it under the actual lighting conditions where the final piece will be viewed. This allows stakeholders to approve the color in context, avoiding costly revisions. Sampling is especially important for light blue colors like PMS 7457 C, as substrate color, lighting, and finish level can affect how the color appears.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
