PMS Hexachrome Orange is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System), a standardized reference widely used for consistent color reproduction in branding, marketing, and industrial design. This color presents as bright, intense, and unmistakably vivid, with a distinctly warm and energetic vibe. It is often chosen for applications that require maximum attention and visibility, functioning as a visual accent or feature element.
PMS Hexachrome Orange presents as a medium-light orange, with a Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of 39.34. The color exhibits a pronounced warm tendency, characteristic of high-chroma oranges. Saturation is notably high, resulting in strong color intensity and visual impact. Undertone is clean and direct, without evident muddiness or muting. This color shows sensitivity to finish; a high-gloss finish may further amplify its vibrancy, while matte may slightly dampen perceived saturation.
PMS Hexachrome Orange is often specified for large-format signage, branding displays, and marketing environments requiring high visibility.
PMS Hexachrome Orange functions well as an accent or background color in display, exhibit, or branded environments where visibility and clear brand association are necessary. It is important to evaluate this color under the intended lighting conditions, as artificial or subdued lighting can influence both brightness and how the orange is perceived. Given its high saturation, coverage may require additional coats for uniformity, and substrate color may influence final appearance. It frequently stands out strongly relative to other oranges, appearing cleaner and more attention-getting without significant red or yellow bias.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

Ordering PMS Hexachrome Orange as a paint match means you are requesting paint that visually matches the Pantone PMS Hexachrome Orange color standard as defined by the Pantone Matching System. It is important to understand that Pantone PMS is a standardized visual reference for color, not a paint formula or manufacturing process. The paint is matched by eye or instrument to the PMS standard, but results can vary based on substrate, finish, and product type. Always compare with a physical Pantone reference and sample the paint as applied in your specific conditions to ensure it meets your expectations for your branding or display project.
When applying PMS Hexachrome Orange to plastics or other low-energy surfaces, adhesion can be a challenge because many plastics require special primers or surface preparation. The right primer or paint system depends on the specific type of plastic. It is essential to test the PMS Hexachrome Orange paint on the actual substrate before full production. This ensures proper adhesion and appearance, as both can be affected by the surface type and preparation. Consult product instructions and sample first for best results in brand displays or signage.
The sheen or finish you select for PMS Hexachrome Orange can significantly influence how the color is perceived. Gloss and semi-gloss finishes tend to make the orange appear more vivid and saturated, which may be important for maximum visual impact in branding. Matte finishes can soften the perceived intensity and may slightly mute the color. When specifying PMS Hexachrome Orange for a marketing or display environment, base your sheen choice on the viewing distance, type of substrate, and your desired visual emphasis. Always evaluate physical samples in your lighting to confirm the final appearance matches your expectations.
The safety and VOC (volatile organic compound) aspects for PMS Hexachrome Orange depend on the paint type, format, and application method you select. Always review the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for the specific product you plan to use, as guidance for handling, ventilation, and protective equipment will vary. Follow all recommended safe use practices for brand installations or marketing displays using this color. If VOCs or specific safety standards are critical for your project, be sure to specify your requirements when ordering.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
