PMS 9184 C is a Pantone PMS color defined within the Pantone Matching System and commonly specified as a precise color reference. It presents a light, airy appearance with a gentle yellow-green cast, conveying a clean, soft, and understated visual character.

The color appears very light, with a high Light Reflectance Value (LRV 80.7). It reads warm overall, leans toward yellow, and maintains low saturation for a muted appearance.

A subtle green undertone prevents it from reading as a pure yellow, and its low chroma makes it relatively forgiving across different sheen levels.

PMS 9184 C works well in brand-facing elements where a light, unobtrusive color is needed without strong visual dominance. Because of its lightness, consistent priming and even application can help reduce show-through, and lighting can shift the color between yellow and green.

Similar colors:

Pantone 600 C: slightly more yellow and brighter, with less green influence.
Pantone 601 C: marginally deeper and warmer, with increased yellow presence.
Pantone 7499 C: cooler and more neutral, with a softer green bias.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 9184 C

Why might Pantone PMS 9184 C look different when painted on various materials?

The appearance of Pantone PMS 9184 C can change based on the material you are painting. Factors like how much the substrate absorbs the paint, surface texture, and reflectivity all influence the final result. For brand-accurate results, always test PMS 9184 C on the actual material intended for your project before full production. This helps ensure the color meets your expectations in the real application environment.

What should I consider when applying Pantone PMS 9184 C paint to plastics or low energy surfaces?

When using Pantone PMS 9184 C paint on plastics or low-surface-energy materials, be aware that not all plastics accept paint equally. Some surfaces may need a specific primer or adhesion promoter for the paint to bond properly. Always test the coating system, including any primer, directly on the actual plastic to confirm adhesion and color appearance before full production.

What is the best way to apply Pantone PMS 9184 C spray paint for marketing and display use?

For Pantone PMS 9184 C, apply several light coats of spray paint rather than one heavy coat. Allow adequate drying or flash time between coats based on the product instructions. This approach helps achieve even coverage, reduces runs or sags, and produces a more consistent finish for brand and display applications.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 9184 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 9184 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 9184 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 9184 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 9184 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
