Pantone™ PMS 600 C

The appearance of Pantone PMS 600 C can shift depending on the surface texture where it is applied. Smoother surfaces reflect light evenly, making this very light yellow appear brighter and cleaner. Rough or porous textures create shadows and scatter light, which can make PMS 600 C look slightly darker or less vibrant. For brand consistency, always evaluate PMS 600 C on the same texture and material as the final application to confirm acceptability under real conditions.

One standard spray can of Pantone PMS 600 C typically covers about 20 to 25 square feet per coat on smooth, primed surfaces. Real coverage for PMS 600 C can vary due to its high lightness and moderate chroma, which may require multiple coats for uniform appearance, especially over darker surfaces. For accurate estimating, assess the total area, the need for priming, and plan for at least two coats to achieve strong, even color. Add extra quantity for highly absorbent or textured substrates.

The Pantone book sets the visual standard for PMS 600 C, but actual paint appearance depends on factors like sheen, substrate, and lighting. Paints matched to PMS 600 C may show minor differences from the book, especially if sheen or surface type does not match the reference sample. For important brand or marketing projects, it is best to review PMS 600 C painted samples on the material and finish you plan to use, under final lighting conditions, before finalizing your order.

The sheen you select for Pantone PMS 600 C can significantly impact how the color is perceived. Gloss and semi-gloss finishes make PMS 600 C appear brighter and can increase reflectance, which may cause glare in high-light settings. Matte and eggshell finishes reduce reflectance, creating a softer and subtler impression. When selecting a sheen, consider the viewing environment, substrate, and the balance between visual emphasis and legibility desired for your brand environment.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
