Pantone™ PMS 7499 C

PMS 7499 C is a standardized Pantone color reference used for brand consistency in new applications. It does not specify the original coating's sheen, substrate, or surface condition, so using PMS 7499 C for touch-up will not guarantee a seamless repair. Variations in gloss, surface texture, application method, and wear will likely be evident, making it unreliable for blending into existing finishes. For projects requiring color repairs, refer to the original product or manufacturer for a true touch-up solution.

The need for a primer with PMS 7499 C paint depends on your substrate and paint type. Primers are recommended on bare surfaces, uncoated metal, plastics, or when covering dark or uneven colors to ensure the pale PMS 7499 C matches as intended and adheres well. Using a primer will help achieve consistent color and durability, especially with high-LRV, very light shades like PMS 7499 C. For specific recommendations, review the instructions for your chosen coating and substrate.

For meaningful approval of PMS 7499 C, evaluate samples under the same lighting conditions you will use in the final installation. Always compare painted samples on the intended substrate, positioned side by side, and make judgments only after the samples have fully dried or cured. This approach reduces surprises and helps ensure brand consistency for PMS 7499 C in your displays or environments.

When applying PMS 7499 C spray paint, use several thin coats rather than one heavy coat. Allow each coat to dry before applying the next. This method improves color uniformity, reduces the risk of runs, and helps the pale, high-LRV PMS 7499 C achieve even coverage. Good application practices are especially important with light shades to avoid visible surface imperfections.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
