PMS 9080 C is a Pantone PMS color used as a standardized visual reference for brand and marketing applications. It presents a pale, low-intensity yellow-green impression with a clean, restrained character that feels open, calm, and contemporary.

The color appears very light, with an LRV of 76.3. It leans slightly cool with a faint yellow-green undertone and very low saturation, giving it a softened, muted look that can shift subtly with lighting.

PMS 9080 C works well where a light brand color is needed without strong visual weight, such as backgrounds or large supporting elements. Consistent priming and evaluation under installed lighting can help confirm uniform appearance and undertone visibility.

Similar colors:

Pantone 9043 C: slightly warmer and more neutral, with less green influence.
Pantone 9063 C: lighter and more neutral, with reduced yellow-green presence.
Pantone 5807 C: darker and more chromatic, with stronger yellow-green clarity.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 9080 C

How can changing the finish or sheen affect the appearance of Pantone PMS 9080 C paint?

The finish or sheen you choose for Pantone PMS 9080 C can significantly change how the color appears. A matte version of PMS 9080 C will look less saturated and lighter in appearance compared to the same color in a gloss finish, which can increase color depth and reflectiveness. For brand-accurate projects, always compare paint samples in both the selected finish and under the intended lighting conditions, since a matte and a gloss sample may look like different colors even if the underlying color code is the same.

What coverage can I expect from one spray can of Pantone PMS 9080 C, and how do I estimate the amount needed?

Each 11 ounce spray can of Pantone PMS 9080 C typically covers about 20 square feet with one even coat on a smooth, nonporous surface. Coverage will vary based on application method, texture, color contrast with the substrate, and the number of coats required for full hide. Highly saturated or lighter colors like PMS 9080 C may require multiple coats for uniform brand color. For accurate projects, measure your total surface area and consider ordering extra to allow for test coats and surface variation.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 9080 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 9080 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 9080 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
