PMS 9520 C is a Pantone Matching System color that reads as a very light, airy aqua. Its visual character is calm and restrained, supporting brand environments that favor clarity and subtlety over saturation.
The color is very light, with an LRV of 80.7, and carries a cool blue-green bias. Its low saturation keeps it soft rather than vivid, with a gentle aqua undertone that avoids looking gray.
PMS 9520 C performs best on well-prepared, uniform surfaces where its light value can develop evenly. Primer selection and consistent application can help prevent show-through, and lower-sheen finishes can reduce visual variation under bright lighting.
Similar colors:
Pantone 621 C: slightly darker and more muted, with a cooler gray influence.
Pantone 629 C: a touch deeper and more saturated, with clearer blue presence.
Pantone 656 C: lighter and bluer, with less green influence.

Pantone codes, including PMS 9520 C, may use suffixes or series letters (like C for coated). It is important to check your brand guidelines or project documentation to confirm you are referencing the correct Pantone code. Ordering the wrong suffix or series can result in a noticeable difference in color or finish. Always verify you are specifying PMS 9520 C if that is the required reference.
For PMS 9520 C, consistent surface preparation, mixing, and application technique are key for even results. Plan for full, even coats rather than spot coverage, and maintain a wet edge to avoid lap marks or visible join lines. Highly saturated colors like PMS 9520 C may need more coats to reach full opacity over light or dark substrates. Test your workflow on a sample area first to ensure coverage and uniformity meet your visual standard.
The appearance of PMS 9520 C will shift depending on the type of lighting and environment where it is viewed. Brightness, warmth, and color can vary noticeably under daylight, fluorescent, and LED sources. To ensure PMS 9520 C meets expectations for your display or brand environment, evaluate samples under the actual lighting conditions where the finished result will be seen.
If you plan to use PMS 9520 C matched paint on plastics or surfaces that resist adhesion, be aware that many plastics require special primers or surface preparation to achieve proper bond. Test the paint on your specific material before full-scale application, and consult product instructions or technical support for guidance on maximizing adhesion.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 9520 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
