Pantone™ PMS Rhodamine Red C

Pantone PMS Rhodamine Red C is specified for creating consistent brand color on new components but is not suitable for touch-up of existing finishes. Pantone references do not define sheen, application method, or substrate characteristics, which are critical for a seamless repair. Visual and appearance differences are common when using Pantone Rhodamine Red C for spot applications on previously coated materials, especially with fluorescent or highly saturated colors. For best results, confirm requirements with a physical sample and avoid using Pantone PMS specification as a direct substitute for original finishes.

The appearance of PMS Rhodamine Red C can change depending on the sheen you select. Higher gloss finishes amplify the fluorescent and vivid effect, making the color appear more intense, while matte finishes can soften the overall impact. For branding and display uses, pick a sheen that matches the visual intent of your project, considering factors like viewing distance, lighting, and substrate material. Always test PMS Rhodamine Red C in your intended finish and lighting environment to confirm the result before full production.

PMS Rhodamine Red C may appear different across plastics, metals, or other substrates because absorption, reflectivity, and texture all influence the final look of the color. Fluorescent colors like PMS Rhodamine Red C are particularly sensitive to surface variations and lighting. To ensure brand consistency, evaluate paint samples of PMS Rhodamine Red C on the exact materials and finishes that will be used in your project environment.

A standard spray can of PMS Rhodamine Red C generally covers about 20 to 25 square feet per coat on a smooth, primed surface. Coverage can be less on highly absorbent or textured substrates, or when applying this bright fluorescent color, which often requires multiple coats for full vibrancy and uniformity. Estimate your total coverage needs by calculating project surface area, planning for at least two coats, and consider ordering extra to accommodate the lower hide of highly saturated colors.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
