PMS 813 C, part of the Pantone Matching System (Pantone PMS), is a fluorescent pink recognized for its vivid, high-energy appearance. The color conveys an assertive, eye-catching, and dynamic vibe, with qualities that are frequently described as striking, energetic, playful, and modern. It is designed for use in visual branding environments where color consistency and prominence are key operational considerations.
PMS 813 C displays a relatively low light reflectance value (LRV) of 21.05, making it visually intense and somewhat darker than typical fluorescent tones. The color reads as unequivocally warm, due to its high-red hue angle. PMS 813 C exhibits extremely high chroma, resulting in saturated, vibrant color that maintains strong visibility under most lighting. The undertone is a distinct fluorescent pink, with magenta attributes and no detectable hints of coolness or neutrality. The visibility and brilliance of PMS 813 C are notably finish-sensitive; matte finishes can reduce the perceived intensity, while gloss or semi-gloss finishes maximize vibrancy.
PMS 813 C works effectively when the intent is maximal attention, such as for signage, promotional installations, event graphics, and components where color-driven differentiation is required. For best results, verify appearance under the intended lighting conditions and on the final substrate, as fluorescent pigments can shift tone and intensity based on lighting and finish. Coverage can sometimes require additional coats due to the inherent properties of fluorescent pigments, and surface preparation is critical to achieving uniform appearance. Compared to similar saturated pinks, PMS 813 C’s fluorescence produces greater visual "pop" but requires careful handling to avoid unintended color washout or variability across materials.
Similar colors:
PMS 806 C offers a similar vivid pink but is lighter and slightly warmer, enhancing its neon effect.
PMS 226 C is closely related but less saturated and more subdued, yielding a less fluorescent, more conventional magenta.
PMS 812 C is similar but appears slightly less intense and more coral-red, introducing a warmer undertone and less visual sharpness.

Pantone PMS 813 C is often specified as a brand color target for fabricated signage, display elements, and exhibits. This ensures a consistent, recognizable color across all visual brand components. To achieve reliable results, it is critical to sample PMS 813 C on the material and with the finish you plan to use. Fluorescent colors like this are highly sensitive to lighting, gloss, and substrate, so approving a sample under real conditions helps prevent surprises before production.
When matching PMS 813 C on metal or powder-coated parts, proper surface preparation is essential. Clean and scuff the surface to promote adhesion, and note that any existing coating or gloss can change how the color appears. Because fluorescent colors are sensitive to finish and substrate color, always sample PMS 813 C on the exact material and finish planned for the project to confirm that the final result meets your expectations.
The Pantone PMS 813 C color in a book is a printed reference standard, not a direct representation of how painted coatings will appear. Sheen (gloss level), substrate, and lighting can all impact how the painted color looks compared to the printed swatch. For the most accurate visual verification, always review a sample of PMS 813 C paint applied to your actual project material with the desired finish under the lighting in which it will be seen.
Sampling is recommended when PMS 813 C is used for important brand-facing projects. Order a small batch or sample of PMS 813 C and apply it to your project material with the intended finish. Review the result with stakeholders and under installed lighting to confirm acceptance before any large-scale production. This process helps catch any issues with coverage, vibrancy, or finish and streamlines approval for brand compliance.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 813 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
