PMS 808 C in the Pantone PMS system is a bold, chromatic color with a strong cyan-green bias, often described as energetic, modern, and highly visible. The color is widely recognized for its eye-catching presence in branded and marketing environments. The overall vibe is vibrant, technical, unapologetically bright, and suited for attention-grabbing applications where visual clarity is critical.

- PMS 808 C appears moderately dark based on its LRV of 29.25. - The color exhibits a strong cool tendency, positioned between green and cyan. - PMS 808 C displays high saturation, contributing to its intense and vivid visual impact. - The undertone is noticeably cool, with no significant warmth or neutral bias. - This color is susceptible to visible shifts in surface finish; gloss will enhance vibrancy, while matte may mute its intensity.

- PMS 808 C is often used in branded display graphics requiring immediate visual impact. - The color is regularly specified for exhibit and event fabrication for technology-forward brands. - PMS 808 C is sometimes used for temporary retail environments or pop-up activations where high chromatic appeal is needed.

PMS 808 C is effective when bold, unmistakable color is needed to direct attention or communicate a modern, energetic identity. Use this color in environments where lighting can be controlled to avoid color drift; it can appear more muted in low light or under warm lighting. Highly saturated, vivid hues like PMS 808 C may require multiple coats to achieve uniform coverage, especially when covering contrasting substrates. When matching other saturated cool greens, note that PMS 808 C will visually read as more vibrant and cooler compared to less chromatic or slightly yellow-leaning alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 808 C

What should I expect in terms of durability when using spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 808 C?

Durability for spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 808 C depends on proper preparation of the substrate, the choice of topcoat, and the exposure conditions of the project. For best results, ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and properly primed before application. Outdoor or high-traffic installations may require a clear protective topcoat to improve longevity and maintain color appearance. Select the paint type that meets the demands of your environment and always follow recommended surface prep and coating instructions for brand-consistent visual impact.

Are there special considerations for applying Pantone PMS 808 C paint to plastics or low-surface-energy materials?

When using Pantone PMS 808 C paint on plastics or low-surface-energy surfaces, substrate compatibility is critical. Many plastics require a dedicated adhesion primer, and some may not accept paint without additional surface treatments. Test PMS 808 C paint on the actual plastic material before moving to production or installation to ensure proper adhesion and appearance. This step helps prevent peeling or color failure and supports accurate brand presentation.

Why do suffixes and code details matter when ordering Pantone PMS 808 C paint?

Pantone color codes like PMS 808 C may include series or suffixes that indicate a specific color reference within the Pantone system. To ensure you receive the intended color for branding or display projects, always confirm the full code and suffix matches your brand documentation or standards. Ordering the correct version of PMS 808 C avoids misalignment with visual brand expectations and ensures project consistency.

What tips help achieve a uniform finish when applying Pantone PMS 808 C over large areas?

To maintain uniformity when applying Pantone PMS 808 C on large surfaces, plan for consistent application technique, work in sections, and maintain a wet edge when spraying or rolling. Use multiple even coats instead of a single heavy coat, especially with highly saturated colors like PMS 808 C, to avoid patchiness or uneven hide. Proper lighting during application helps catch coverage gaps and ensures a brand-consistent finish.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 808 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
