PMS 693 C from the Pantone PMS collection presents as a light, low-saturation pink with a gentle, subdued appearance. The color balances soft, approachable qualities with an understated and professional vibe, often perceived as clean, muted, approachable, and calming. Its measured chroma and lightness place it in the mid-range of visibility, making it suitable for backgrounds or accents that should not dominate visually.

PMS 693 C appears moderately light, with a specified LRV of 45.16. The color tends toward a warm, pinkish tone. It exhibits low to moderate saturation, providing a soft and subdued impression. The undertone is predominantly pink, carrying a slight warmth without overt vibrancy. This color is relatively stable but may exhibit minor sensitivity to sheen; higher-gloss finishes can slightly increase perceptual chroma.

PMS 693 C is well-suited for use where a light, warm, and subtle branded color is needed without commanding attention. It performs reliably in display, marketing, or prototype contexts where less visual dominance is preferred. Surface preparation should focus on building an opaque base, as lighter pinks may be affected by the underlying substrate. Evaluate the color in target lighting and finish, as changes in gloss can slightly influence appearance. When compared to similar hues, PMS 693 C reads as softer and less saturated, reducing visual competition in multi-element designs.

Similar colors:
PMS 691 C – Lighter and slightly cooler, resulting in an even softer background appearance.

PMS 694 C – A touch darker and more saturated, shifting toward a bolder, more pronounced pink.

PMS 705 C – Lighter and less chromatic, with a nearly off-white pink effect.

PMS 1767 C – More chromatic and vibrant, offering greater saturation and visual impact.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 693 C

What does it mean to order Pantone PMS 693 C in paint?

Ordering Pantone PMS 693 C in paint means you are requesting a color match to the PMS 693 C visual standard as defined by Pantone. The PMS code is a reference point for color consistency; it is not a coating formulation or a process specification. Paint matched to PMS 693 C is produced to visually simulate the Pantone target as closely as possible in the selected format and finish. Differences in substrate, sheen, and lighting can affect the perceived result, so approval should always be made visually under project-relevant conditions.

Why is authorized reproduction important when ordering Pantone PMS 693 C?

Authorized reproduction ensures that your Pantone PMS 693 C paint order closely aligns with the official Pantone standard. Pantone colors are licensed, standardized references. Ordering from an authorized source like MyPerfectColor helps achieve brand-required consistency, as the paint is formulated by referencing the official Pantone PMS 693 C guide. This is critical for display, marketing, and industrial design projects where visual accuracy matters.

What should I consider when applying Pantone PMS 693 C to metal or powder coated surfaces?

When using Pantone PMS 693 C matched paint on metal or powder coated parts, proper surface prep is key. Clean and scuff the substrate to ensure good adhesion. Existing coatings, gloss level, and any substrate color can impact the final appearance of PMS 693 C, especially since lighter pinks are sensitive to underlying tones. Always review a sample on your actual part before full-scale use to confirm the visual outcome meets your requirements.

How does sheen affect the appearance of Pantone PMS 693 C paint?

The choice of sheen can influence how Pantone PMS 693 C looks on your project. Higher-gloss finishes may make the pink appear slightly more vibrant, while flatter finishes can mute it. For brand-facing displays or prototypes, select sheen based on where and how the painted surface will be viewed, taking into account substrate type and desired level of visual impact. Always check the color and sheen together in project lighting to ensure the result matches expectations.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 693 C?

Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 693 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
