PMS 670 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (Pantone PMS) collection, a standardized set widely used in branding, display, and industrial design. The color presents as pale, muted, and understated, with a cool, calming vibe that is well-suited for contemporary visual identities, corporate communications, and environments requiring a soft accent. Visual impression is light, clean, and quiet, with nuanced lavender undertones.

PMS 670 C appears as a very light, pastel lavender with a gentle presence. The color leans cool due to its purple bias and lack of strong yellow or red influence. Saturation is low, resulting in a subdued and non-vivid aesthetic. Undertones are closely tied to soft purplish hues, with a slight bluish influence. The measured LRV of 70.01 places PMS 670 C distinctly on the lighter end of the spectrum, reflecting significant light. The color’s appearance may shift subtly in response to finish; gloss may increase the sense of clarity, while matte may further mute the lavender character.

PMS 670 C is selected when a barely-there lavender is needed for visual differentiation without strong chromatic impact. It performs well in environments with stable, neutral lighting, as its pale nature can be influenced by ambient color and finish. When specifying for painted substrates, take care with primer selection to ensure opacity; very light pastel colors often require a uniform, neutral base to prevent undertone interference. Compared to similar pastels, it is notably cooler and less saturated, which can help avoid pinkish or overly soft results.

Similar colors:
PMS 656 C – Slightly lighter and more neutral, with less perceptible lavender undertone.

PMS 2635 C – Somewhat deeper and marginally more saturated, yielding a stronger lavender effect.

PMS 7436 C – Warmer and less blue, which makes it register as more pinkish compared to PMS 670 C.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 670 C

What should I know about matching Pantone PMS 670 C across different materials and applications?

Pantone PMS 670 C is formulated for visual brand consistency, but matching this pastel lavender precisely across all materials can be challenging. Variations in substrate, finish, and lighting may cause subtle shifts in appearance. MyPerfectColor uses calibrated systems to target the official Pantone standard, but factors like paint type and material characteristics can influence perceived color. For most branding, display, and prototype applications, our standard match is appropriate. For critical projects or multi-material builds, confirm color suitability by testing on the actual substrate before large orders.

How do I order paint matched to Pantone PMS 670 C on MyPerfectColor?

To purchase paint matched to Pantone PMS 670 C, first select your desired paint format such as spray paint, paint pen, brush-in-cap bottle, or larger quantity cans. Choose the sheen (finish) and confirm whether you need interior or exterior performance. Next, select the amount you need based on your project scope. Review your choices for alignment with the application needs before placing your order. If working across multiple materials or environments, evaluate a small sample before completing a larger order.

Why might Pantone PMS 670 C look different on plastics versus metal or wood substrates?

Pantone PMS 670 C is specified to a visual color standard, not a substrate-specific formula. Differences in texture, absorption, and reflectivity across materials like plastic, metal, and wood can change the color''s appearance under the same lighting. Matte surfaces may appear more muted, and glossy surfaces more vivid. For brand-critical projects, always evaluate PMS 670 C on the actual material and finish that will be used in your final application.

How do I choose the right paint for PMS 670 C if my project is indoors versus outdoors?

When ordering PMS 670 C, select a paint type designed for your specific use. For installations or displays exposed to weather and sunlight, choose an exterior-rated paint option to ensure durability and color performance. For branding elements used exclusively indoors, an interior-rated paint is suitable and may offer a broader selection of finishes. Matching the paint to your exposure environment supports brand consistency and helps the color perform as expected over time.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 670 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 670 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 670 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
