PMS 9160 C is a Pantone PMS color specified as a visual reference for consistent color reproduction across materials. It presents as clean, airy, contemporary, upbeat, and approachable, making it suitable for brand-controlled visual environments.

The color reads very light, with an LRV of 80.7, and leans warm with a yellow-forward green tendency. It shows low-to-moderate saturation and carries a subtle yellow undertone that keeps it bright without appearing sharp.

PMS 9160 C works well where a light, positive brand note is needed without overwhelming surrounding elements. Its light value means surface contrast can influence appearance, so light or white primers often help support even coverage and color clarity.

Similar colors:

PMS 9140 C: lighter and more neutral, with a softer overall presence.
PMS 9150 C: slightly deeper and warmer, with more visible yellow influence.
PMS 9170 C: cooler and marginally darker, with increased green clarity.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 9160 C

What safety and VOC considerations should I be aware of when using Pantone PMS 9160 C paint products?

Safety and VOC expectations for Pantone PMS 9160 C depend on the specific paint product you select, such as spray paint or another format. Always refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for the product you plan to use and follow all recommended handling practices. Use proper ventilation and personal protective equipment according to the product's guidelines. If you need additional information, request the SDS for any Pantone PMS 9160 C paint format before starting your project.

How do I choose the right paint type for Pantone PMS 9160 C for interior versus exterior brand projects?

When specifying Pantone PMS 9160 C for a brand-facing project, select the paint type based on where it will be used. For interior applications, choose a paint formulated for indoor use, which typically prioritizes visual impact and lower odor. For exterior applications or areas subject to weather and direct sunlight, select a paint designed for outdoor durability and UV resistance. Confirm requirements with your team to ensure the best result for your display or installation.

Why is Pantone PMS 9160 C important for brand experience and consistency?

Pantone PMS 9160 C is a standardized color defined by Pantone, making it critical for achieving a consistent visual identity in brand experiences. Using this exact color code on displays, signage, or marketing environments helps ensure that brand colors appear uniform and recognizable across different materials and locations. Always specify Pantone PMS 9160 C when brand color accuracy is required for marketing or display projects.

How much area does a spray can of Pantone PMS 9160 C typically cover?

Coverage for a spray can of Pantone PMS 9160 C will vary based on the surface type, number of coats, and application technique. As a general estimate, one standard 11 to 12 ounce spray can covers about 20 to 25 square feet per coat on a smooth, primed surface. Highly saturated colors like PMS 9160 C may require additional coats for full visual strength and uniform coverage, so plan your purchase accordingly. Consider surface texture and allow for waste in complex or high-profile applications.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 9160 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 9160 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 9160 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How much area will one spray can cover? And what is Pantone PMS 9160 C spray paint made of?

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 9160 C. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

Most people don't use a primer for a touch up paint application, but a primer may improve adhesion and is typically recommended for exterior applications.
How do I convert PMS 9160 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 9160 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
