PMS 5825 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (Pantone PMS) collection, a standard in brand, display, and industrial design workflows. The color communicates a restrained, natural, and subdued vibe, with muted and organic characteristics. It is considered an understated, utilitarian, and stable choice for visual scenarios where a strong yellow-green presence is needed without excessive brightness or saturation.

PMS 5825 C presents as a distinctly muted, medium-dark yellow-green. The color tends toward warmth, sitting in the yellow-green area of the spectrum. Saturation is low to moderate, with chroma indicative of subdued intensity. The undertone is nuanced, carrying an earthy, almost olive cast, which reduces vibrancy and adds a touch of neutrality. With an LRV of 17.59, PMS 5825 C is noticeably darker than midtone yellows or greens and may appear deeper under low or indirect lighting. The color may be sensitive to gloss level; higher sheen surfaces can accentuate its yellow-green attributes, while matte finishes produce a softer, more organic appearance.

PMS 5825 C functions well in environments or branded elements seeking an organic, utilitarian, or naturally inspired look, such as environmentally themed packaging, signage, or architecture. Specifiers should evaluate the color in the intended substrate and finish, as lighting and surface gloss can shift its perceived warmth and darkness. Compared to other yellow-greens, PMS 5825 C maintains a more grounded appearance, with less vibrancy and fewer overt yellow or chartreuse notes, making it less likely to overpower adjacent colors.

Similar colors:

PMS 7749 C is a deeper, greener alternative, offering both a cooler temperature and greater chroma.

PMS 5783 C is lighter and less saturated, presenting a more neutral and desaturated character.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 5825 C

How does substrate texture affect the appearance of Pantone PMS 5825 C when used in brand and display applications?

The appearance of Pantone PMS 5825 C can shift noticeably depending on the texture of the surface. Glossy or smooth textures reflect more light and tend to make PMS 5825 C appear brighter and more distinctly yellow-green. Matte or heavily textured surfaces diffuse light, giving the color a softer, more muted, and organic look. For consistent brand results, sample PMS 5825 C on the intended substrate and finish to confirm that the color aligns with expectations under installation lighting conditions.

Is Pantone PMS 5825 C paint suitable for touch-up of pre-coated parts, or is a different approach needed?

Pantone PMS 5825 C paint is formulated for brand color reproduction in marketing and display contexts rather than touch-up of pre-coated parts. If you need touch-up-grade results that visually blend with existing finishes on a part, you should send a physical sample for matching. This ensures a closer match to substrate, gloss, and wear. Standard Pantone PMS color matching is best when the goal is consistent brand color across new fabricated pieces.

What is important to consider when specifying Pantone PMS 5825 C for use in pop-up or retail environments?

When using Pantone PMS 5825 C in pop-up or retail settings, carefully evaluate lighting conditions and surface durability requirements. Because color and sheen can shift under different lighting, sample PMS 5825 C in the planned finish and lighting before full-scale production. Also, select an appropriate paint formulation to meet location needs for wear and cleaning. This approach helps maintain consistent, brand-accurate color and reliable long-term appearance in active environments.

What should I know before ordering custom-made Pantone PMS 5825 C paint for a brand project?

Pantone PMS 5825 C paint is custom formulated to order for brand and display use. Confirm your product type and sheen before ordering, and sample if possible, as custom-matched items are not easily changed once produced. Reviewing your substrate, finish, and visual goals in advance helps ensure the final product meets brand specifications and avoids unexpected results or delays.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 5825 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
