PMS 5507 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (Pantone PMS) collection, designed for consistent visual communication across materials and applications in branding and marketing. The color conveys a vibe that is muted, understated, technical, and balanced. Its mid-range lightness and soft chromatic presence make it compatible with settings emphasizing subtlety and professionalism.

PMS 5507 C appears as a medium-light shade, with an LRV of 46.7 indicating balanced reflectance and moderate brightness. The color leans slightly cool, as it features a hue angle associated with blue-green territory. Saturation is low to moderate, giving it a desaturated, muted look rather than a bright or vivid appearance. The undertone is neutral, tending gently toward blue with a subtle green influence. This color’s appearance may shift depending on lighting and finish, particularly on matte versus glossy surfaces; it can appear softer or slightly cooler under different illumination.

PMS 5507 C is operationally suited for projects where a subdued, technical color is needed without strong visual dominance. It performs well in environments where glare and strong color contrast are to be avoided, such as branded environments, industrial fixtures, and restrained corporate palettes. Consistent color results depend on substrate preparation and finish selection; variations in lighting or sheen can accentuate its cool undertones or make the color appear lighter or flatter. When compared to other muted blue-greens, PMS 5507 C will register as more subdued and less chromatic, which should be considered during palette development or when matching to other brand elements.

Similar colors:

PMS 5517 C – Is lighter and softer with a higher degree of visible blue, creating a brighter and less muted impression.

PMS 444 C – Presents a cooler and more neutral gray, lacking the subtle green present in PMS 5507 C.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 5507 C

Why is it important to use a licensed source for PMS 5507 C Pantone paint reproduction?

Pantone colors like PMS 5507 C are licensed standards, meaning only authorized suppliers can officially reproduce these colors for branding and marketing use. Choosing an authorized source helps ensure that your PMS 5507 C paint matches the intended Pantone reference, supporting visual consistency and accuracy across your branded materials. This is essential for maintaining brand standards and avoiding costly color mismatches in environments where appearance matters.

What should I consider about coverage and undercoats when ordering PMS 5507 C paint?

PMS 5507 C is a muted, medium-light blue-green with moderate coverage. Depending on your substrate and application method, you may need more than one coat to achieve uniform color. Using a primer or an appropriate undercoat, especially on contrasting or highly absorbent surfaces, can help improve coverage and color consistency. Planning for additional coats may be necessary to ensure the PMS 5507 C color appears as intended in your branding or display project.

Why might PMS 5507 C look different on various materials or finishes?

The appearance of PMS 5507 C can shift depending on the material and finish. Factors such as surface texture, absorption, and reflectivity influence how the color is seen. Matte, satin, and gloss finishes can each affect the brightness and subtle undertones of this blue-green shade. For brand-critical applications, it is recommended to evaluate PMS 5507 C on the actual substrate and under the lighting conditions of the final installation to ensure visual alignment with standards.

When should I order a standard PMS 5507 C paint match instead of a custom match for my project?

Choosing a standard PMS 5507 C match is appropriate for marketing, signage, display builds, and concept prototypes where referencing the Pantone color code is required for brand consistency. If your application prioritizes visual alignment with Pantone standards rather than an exact substrate-specific match, a standard PMS 5507 C color target is typically correct. However, if your project involves multi-material builds, formal brand approvals, or high-visibility installations, consider evaluating a sample first to confirm results in your environment.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 5507 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 5507 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 5507 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
